Jay K it’s street food dude. They usually have a bucket of water and bucket of soap or a hose to wash everything. If you went to Germany and ate or drank at an indoor bar that wash there stuff with bucket of water and soap then I think you’ll be fine for Thai street food lol

Check out the western food too in Chiang Mai: German, French, American , Italian you name it, its excellent. Not every Farang can eat all the day Thai food during his stay. I personally cannot eat rice for breakfast. In addition i cannot tolerate too spicy food. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Great video - One tip is to remember that in Thai the term spicy is not the same as chilli. Prik vs Pet are 2 key words to look up and remember as one is hot chilli and the other spices (spicy) I really enjoyed your well made video and agree with most of your recommendations. I have been travelling to Chaing Mai for over 20 years.

Oh I had to ask a friend because I forgot the name of this most excellent Mexican restaurant in the Old City - Olé. It is also Bird's Nest Cafe in the morning, but in the evening the name and menu changes. Excellent food and very friendly staff.

The Southern Gate has so many great food options! And then for dessert you have the fruit smoothies and the mango sticky rice stalls. For coffee, I _highly_ recommend Good Morning Chiang Mai about in the middle of the city center. And for fantastic vegetarian food just a few minutes walk beyond the southern gate, there is Aum Vegetarian Restaurant. Honestly though, Chiang Mai has more great restaurants and food stalls than you could ever discover. Plus it has some good night life including latin dance activities 2-3 nights a week. If you ever had to be stuck in any city (aside from Feb-Apr, "burning season"), you could do far worse than CM.

Don't usually live my trip through someone else's footsteps however, cycling through Asia (again) and found myself in Chiangmai and did go to Nun's. You are correct in that the food is a notch above. Everything was awesome from the curry to the som tum to (what I would have never had ordered but a friend did...the sweet and sour veggies...) really good as well. Thank you for this post!. If I can make a recommendation....when you get back, seek out "BLUE NOODLE" an unassuming local noodle soup place. You will probably be the only westerner in there, but my God the flavors....off the hook good and for only 60 baht, (about $1.80) a down right steel. ARE YOU IN CHIANG MAI NOW? Feb 11/2020... would love to dine with you guys!
