Sonny appreciates it even if its something he may not enjoy or is extremely foreign to him. It's about the adventure to better understanding cultures through culinary experiences. Which is especially on display in his travels to Tribes in Africa.

Damn ! Sonny you are the first KZbinr out of hundreds to have come to Chian Mai and found my go to chicken place on the planet. Damn, the queues are gonna be even longer now. BTW, I understand those aren't just any old chickens. They are tiny birds and the recipe is from a small district called Wichian Buri in Petchabun Province. Be great if you could go there one day and see the town that put grilled chicken on the map for Thailand. Keep up the good work. Your videos are great.

I’m so glad that your in Thailand and exploring the many different foods!! There are also different styles of papaya salad that you need to try. There is papaya salad with peanuts and without the fermented fish and crab. Eating papaya salad with sticky rice and grilled chicken (Gai Yang) is a great combo together in your mouth. My mom is from Thailand and she is an amazing cook and cooks food from all the regions of Thailand. I’d like to see you in Thailand more. Enjoy your trip.

I was in Chiang Mai for a month and kept venturing 15-30 minutes out from my accommodation to look for khao soi (the first dish Sonny ate). It was only towards the end of my stay when I realised that the first restaurant featured here was right behind where I was staying. I then ate there three days in a row.

When I went to a local Thai restaurant the chef had got some new chillis in and he says they were hotter than he had expected. My spice tolerance is not great but I do like a bit of spice. Anyway, I started eating this dish which was what I usually order and it was still delicious, just very hot! He saw me going red and starting to struggle so came over with a free glass of milk and then he made one of those sweet milk drinks like you showed in the video for me. Such awesome people there. Shout out to the Siamese restaurant in Lava Street Warrnambool.

I would recommend Somtam Thai, another kind of Somtam that I love. Personally, I don’t like crab Somtam, and I’m Thai ☺️ You should also try Chiangmai sausage, and Nam Prig Noom (green chili paste). It’s my favorite Chiangmai food :)
