I do feel a bit bad for those 2 character (and a couple of others, like sugar man for example) because I feel that they can have some development but Horikoshi hasn't given them enough time. Aoyama has had good moments throughout, but they have only been "sparkles". I do understand though, that having such a big and diverse cast of characters, it's difficult to showcase them all, but hehas done it with other characters at times (Kendo for instance).

I think people forget that this is a training arc (& majority of this kids didn't participate in work study) plus all of them are still in their first year so obviously their flaws & weaknesses will be highlighted so that we can see their growth as time pass. If this fight happen in their graduating year and then both Aoyama & Touru still do what they do here I would be super upset on their characters but in this stage I'm okay on what happen.

Did anyone else wonder, how Invisible Girl really has been caught by a surprise (!) attack from Kendo... who has pulled a friggin cannon behind her? I mean, imagine how she approaches slowly and probably very loudly from behind, and Invisible girl like "hmm... I hear this squeaky and grinding noise behind me... well... must be my imagination..." Think about it this way: Kendo, a direct front fighter, partly tied up and with Momo + a giant cannon on her back, is more skilled in surprise attacks than Invisible Girl :D

Tokoyami literally neutralized two of his enemies in a blow and went to a third, but as you say; He let his guard down. Although I lost the team, I believe that the observations that are shown will be taken into account: Momo: she must assume more leadership role and improve her defense. Tokoyami: he should leave his attitude to think that everyone would act as "honorable" as he in a fight. Invisible Girl: Must learn to shut up and get into an intensive martial arts course. Aoyama: He has to improve his courage, he has a strong quirk, he should just use it.

J Melchor I agree tokoyami needs to be more ruthless momo and invisible girl needs to learn martial arts because imo it’s no momo defender she can make shields etc it’s her close combat that’s the problem for example she could have used tape to tie kendos hands or could have punched kendo forcing her to evade then when she moves her head to the side she could create a spear out of her forearm hitting her similar to sage mode naruto

Momo is very intelligent but she's not very strong in combat like Todoroki, Bakugou and Deku. I do think she should train on this just like how Uraraka train Gunhead Martial Arts.

Here is the thing, her quirk isn't suitable that much with combat. Even if she train under combat trainer, there's no way she get on Deku or Bakugou level. She has some degree of self defense like Uraraka, but that's it. Honestly, Todoroki is the same way. Notice how he relies too much on his quirk.

She could train to wield a variety of weapons (Not necessarily very complex ones, but stuff like staffs, swords, nunchucks etc). Then when she's in a pinch she can create the appropriate weapon and proceed to beat the crap out of her opponent.

It could be suitable for combat, indirectly, by creating weapons that give her an advantage in any situation. So she could train martial arts with those weapons and this, unlike hand to hand combat, doesnt require as much strength or raw power but expertise and wits. Because she is a hero I doubt she would make something lethal (she created a cannon not as a weapon but as a way to give equipment to her team) like a bladed weapon and at the same time it has to be something simple to conceptualize, unlike a taser, so she could make a staves or a baton, for example. And against people who fight with strengh, like Todoroki, bakugo, deku, etc. maybe she could think of a material that use that force against them, maybe a shield with that. In a sense, Momo's quirk represents human reason of survival since ancient times, resourcefulness and adaptation, to an extreme level. We cant compete against a lion with force alone, so we create weapons, traps, whatever, to compensate. So it depends on her own intelligence and fair judgement of the situation, her potential is limitless honestly.

Momo quirk is very combat suited. She's basically a more diverse Mystique. The main problem is she has low h2h combat skills. before entering UA she probably never been in a fight before. 2nd is she needs to get better in creating weapons with her quirk. She has the intelligence. but everything else is lacking

Unless you didn’t know team players think about their team that lucky bag was creative but meant to help her team. Even after her loss she did her best to slow down kendo. If she had just a little or the slightest training in close range she might’ve lasted a little longer but the odds weren’t in her favor

Well at least aoyama was able to counter Black guy for a little while at the beggining ^^' But aoyama's quirk just isn't made for combat lol that's not his fault ^^ He can't fight with this quirk that's useless ... On the other hand Toru has a perfect quirk for combat but saddly she's just a bad character and she's so useless.. If she just leaned martial arts with her invisibility she wuld way more powerfull but she's just being used as a comedic character that will never progress :/

I know that Tooru is is pretty popular but right now they way she is, besides stealth situations, I honestly don't see how she can be useful in a fight like this, Same with Aoyama. Tokoyami while I understand why he lost and don't fault him for it, after all that we was built up in the previous chapter it was disappointing to see him lose like this, with a quirk that almost could've killed him.

Ok, first of all, props to Hori for having the guts to work with 41 characters, seriously, try making a permutation and you will see how many possibilities you have with so many characters. Also, for making the girls the MVPs in both battles (Tsuyu in the first and Komori/Kendo in the second). Now, I think Aoyama and Hagakure didn't get any development here, they were deadweight and they made the match become a 4x2 situation. The last page was kinda silly, Kendo outclassed Momo but Momo was the one to be praised? - but this still can be explained next chapter. Hori made a mistake when he put too much hype on Momo, some people got pissed because of the lackluster result. I think 1 month for this match was too much, hopefully Hori will make the pacing better for the battles to come (without destroying his body in the process ofc)

A bit confused on how Kendo should have been praised here. She knocked Momo out but couldn't prevent her conducting her plan. Class B only won this match because Mushroom Girl took out Tokoyami at the last second. Momo plan allowed her team to get a second chance at victory by giving them the tools necessary to combat 1-B. Momo wasn't the issue here and her actions here were far better than her teammates. Her plan actually work and she managed to hinder Kendo. She almost carried her entire team to victory and Kendo only won because one of her teammates used a borderline lethal strategy after almost being captured.

Damn, my favorite character Tokoyami was the real ace. But he got defeated in the end. But I'm happy he got the spot light. But damn, this is really going to hurt Momo's self esteem. Like she needs an arc of her own, she has been taking straight L's. She has a great quirk, fantastic quirk but for combat it's very flawed, the amount of thought she needs to put into her creations really hinders her. Not to mention her lack of hand-to-hand combat skills. But ultimately she was a great help. Aoyama and Hakagure, they ruined it. Aoyama despite having his limits, has a strong quirk, especially in combination with his costume. I mean come on, with his suit he can not only control the frequency of his beams but he can make them shoot from all around. But he didn't do anything substantial. Hakagure, I try to defend her, especially to my friends, but come on, invisibility plus, the ability to blind opponents that's crazy. Aoyama and her could have flooded the entire area with light, all while Momo made protective goggles, something. I'm not mad at them losing at this point because the other team had strong quirks that seem to completely counter them. But what I'm mad about is how Hakagure and Aoyama didn't receive much in the development department, even mineta has more development.

People were upset with how things worked out for Zuko in the Book 2 finale, especially given what the episodes previous were building up. And look how that ended up, we got one of the most realistic and developed character arcs in Western animation. I personally think a clean sweep for Momo would have been unrealistic and bad storytelling.

I was rooting for momo, especially since shouto clearly praised her, hyped her up, and showed concern for her after the loss, but I definitely can respect momo's decision to prioritize her team's safety in this chapter while somewhat disregarding her own condition; immobilizing kendo while creating that gigantic cannon. If only aoyama and hagakure actually have roles in this battle and tokoyami didn't underestimate his opponent, things might have turned out differently. The team lacks proper, equal teamwork which is a shame considering momo has great intellect and leadership skills while tokoyami is offensively powerful ...Now what I want to see next how the team; especially tokoyami and momo took that loss considering his slip up and her past experiences, and todoroki delivering justice on his turn in defense for his girl;)

To be fair you don’t need to hone your quirk for combat. Toru has been stated to be a stealth hero. She excels in recon and surprise attacks, not straight combat. Aoyama seems to better for a search and rescue hero being able to use his quirk as a beacon to alert a hero with an enhance quirk and such.

The thing is Momo actually has Bo Staff mastery(this is a stated fact), so she actually has offensive capabilities and training, but like what was mentioned if Kendo could break tungsten what could Momo really do that wouldn't risk Kendo's life, like the fact that Mushroom Girl put mushrooms in Tokoyami's throat will be brought up next chapter as something along the lines of Aizawa getting annoyed(could be wrong, but clearly class A hasn't been trying to maim anyone). I do think that Momo might look a little discouraged that she lost, but I believe either Kendo or Shoto, or maybe both will say a little something to her. Then I hope Shoto kicks TetsuTetsu's ass for revenge(but thats just the todomomo in mean wanting it).

Your right about the disappointment with invisible girl cause all she has is the ability to be invisible and that’s it, imagine if sue storm was only invisible and had no physic and force field powers. Could be because Kendo's plan was to just separate and fight Momo since it's personal to her, yet Momo focused on helping her teammates knowing that would lead to her getting caught and choosing to lose to her rival in if it means giving her teammates a chamce to win. Kendo's team won simply because of Mushroom girl's quirk.

Momo was close, But Kendo won the battle of the brains. Tokoyami didn't expect Mushroom girl's quirk can do that to his lungs. Monoma was right, and that cost class 1-A the victory. Tokoyami would've knockout Mushroom girl, but he treated it like a training course. Mushroom girl for the MVP.

Kendo's plan was to separate Momo from the others and lure her into a 1v1 and hinder her team of their strategist. Momo didn't delude herself into thinking she could beat Kendo in fight and instead prioritized saving her teammates and she was successful. In my opinion, Momo's plan was actually more effective because she not only saved her teammates from initially being captured but she also greatly hindered Kendo's mobility.

I think this class A loss might be a perfect set up to reveal who the traitor is. Aizawa said that this is a chance for Shinso to get into the hero course, but I don't know if he mentioned whether or not someone would be kicked out or not to make room. This was revealed to be a possibility back near the tournament arc of the second season. But if someone being removed is a possibility then this might be a good chance to finally reveal who the UA traitor is. The traitor can easily frame whomever is removed, then do something very huge and surprise everyone. Or this could be their chance to have a clean get away. By this point the traitor already knows that Principal Nezu will catch on eventually so failing this exercise is their best chance to get away while the getting is good and maybe even grab some extra intel on everyone. (Moving because you have to is less suspicious then sneaking out and carries less chances of being caught) If this is a possibility then Tohru failing so badly and being so useless, actually makes her seem more suspicious now more then ever. Like she was doing extra badly on purpose to ensure her removal.

In my honest opinion, I feel like the fight was too short. I would’ve been happier if the fight was extended to one or two more chapters (assuming the short chapters will stick around for a while). Kendo and Momo’s fight barely got shown and I just felt as if class 1A got beaten wayyyyyy too easily. I don’t think they should’ve won, but I felt like they didn’t do everything they could’ve to try to win (mainly due to Hagakure and Aoyama). Overall, I think the execution of this fight could’ve been done way better, but it’s still a good fight in my opinion.

Although I expected class B to win, I did not expect all of class A's team to get caught. Momo's self-confidence is really gonna take a heavy hit from that. Way to solidify your uselessness Invisible Girl. She literally did nothing until the very last minute and still sucked. Her only advantage is that she cannot be seen, so what does she do? Instead of quietly sneaking up to Manga and knocking him out she alerts him of her presence, which at that point what's the point of even having a quirk that turns you invisible. She did a terrible job at keeping an eye on her surroundings. How is it you have an ability that turns you invisible, yet someone who's tied to a cannon with big hands is able to sneak up on you? She didn't even bother to use her illuminating ability. Talk about not pulling your own weight. At least Aoyama did something, despite getting caught twice by the same guy.

I have so much respect for Tokoyami and Momo. Like many moments in the manga, they continue to prove to be good comrades to their teammates. Like you, I am disappointed with Aoyama and Hagakure, I hope this is the last time that they are useless. Even though I was rooting for Kendou, I was hoping for a proper battle between her and Momo. Their prior declared rivalry takes me back to Naruto when Sakura was up against Ino in the chunin exam arc. But props to Horikoshi for empowering his female characters, this is a legit rivalry between female characters; that both want to prove to be good heroines, not a cat-fight to win over a guy character's love or something. I think this kind of representation is necessary especially that Shounen Jump also has female readers. And of course there are other good written female characters like Midoriya's mother, Nana, and Uraraka. Chibi, I want to commend you analysis like always. I don't think Momo necessarily lost. She just continues to impress her intellect in battle. Not to mention she's selfless to her comrades in battle, she could have prioritized to create more things to counter back Kendo's fists, but she never neglected her teammates. That must have taken so much energy to create the glasses, the spray and ethanol. Fans of Momo still got some character development from the recent chapter.

I kinda feel bad saying this but... I 'm glad Class B won Horikoshi showing no bias is a good thing! Sure they hyped Momo and I'm worried of her team winning. But Kendo pull it through props to Manga and Mushroom girl. For the sake of balance it was worth it I also applaud at Tokoyami and Momo for their development. Don't worry Aoyama and Hagakure will get another development someday. Now the big factor is the teams of Todoroki and Bakugo. I cannot predict who will win or lose but it depends in the next match's result.

Despite not experiencing Internships or gaining a PHL. It's tricky coz it's Todoroki and Bakugo. Team Todoroki wins if they have Shoto who can hard carry. I'm excited to see him showcase any new abilities. They have reconnaissance with Shoji and Iida's recipro-burst for throwing them into prison. Team Tetsu 4 wins if 3/4 of them actually have quirks that can deal with Shoto's ice restraints. TetsuTetsu can smash the ice, Honenuki can softening the ice to escape, and Sen Kaibara can "gyrate/spin drill" his way out of the ice. Honenuki's softening quirk to sink his opponents is a strong restraining quirk. Team Awase wins if Bakugo's cooperation skills are off-putting that it crumbles the synergy of the team which 1-B can take advantage of. Bakugo may take out a few, but 1-B can play it smart by running the clock out when they have the number advantage. If Tokage (Quirk: Lizard Tail Cut) gets caught by Sero, she can probably dismember her limbs to escape and she can regenerate it. Awase can restrain people by welding people to objects or himself. He can be a formidable CQC fighter. Team Bakugo wins if Bakugo's cooperation skills are decent. He's showcased this during the cavalry battle and the PLE, but Sero is the only person he's familiar with. I think 1-B has the weakest composition/students for Round 4. Jiro can sound wave the enemies to stun them (Bakugo's stun grenade too) while Sero restrains them.

RaginDXDemon to be fair, it’s the ones with experience are the “main” crew and those associated with them. Class people like Todoroki and Bakugo have experience fighting, planning and taking villains out, but that doesn’t apply to say Aoyama and Toru. Even Momo doesn’t have that much combat experience. Yes there’s the USJ attack, but those guys were mostly fodder and Kamanari dealt with a large chunk of them.

Honestly If 🍄 girl wasn't in this fight I think Class A would win. Everyone in Class A is strong but not perfect. It exposed that Aoyoma and Hagakure need to improve immensely to be good heroes. Momo was fantastic she was just put into a bad position and her last move to help her team. Tokoyami proved that he's a top 5 student in the class in combat with the massive leap on his use of his Quirk. 🍄 girl quirk was too powerful and Manga's quirk made that team so versatile they didn't stand a chance.

Honestly I'm really enjoying these fights. For it allows the students to make mistakes and learn from them in a safe environment. Without having characters fuck up and result in someone almost or *actually* getting killed in the field of battle because of the fact they're still green. Plus so far these fights really show off just how deadly the simplest of strategies can be when applied in *just the right way.* Not to mention how costly moments of hesitation or confustion are. As a strategy junkie I honestly can't wait for the next Team Battle.

I feel like if either Todoroki or Bakugo is going to lose, I would wager that Todoroki would be the one to lose, as Bakugo has already had his major failure, and a couple times it's already been stated that Todoroki relies too heavily on his Quirk in combat, with Stain being the first to point this out. Todoroki however did not seem to be impacted all that much by him failing the provisional license exam the first time around. So I feel like Todoroki is next in line to be "humbled" or to get a "wake-up call". If anything I actually expect Bakugo to outright dominate his match, because after his rematch with Deku he now views Deku as a genuine rival and worthy opponent, and has had a fire lit in him to keep pushing himself to improve not just as a Hero but as a person. Todoroki however has not had a moment like that just yet. An other possibility however could be that Todoroki and/or Bakugo could have their match end in a "draw" instead, so that the deciding factor for whether Class A beats Class B or not would be Deku's match. Hell, we may even have a fast one pulled on us by having Bakugo and Todoroki both win, only for *Shinsou to defeat Deku* (possibly as "payback" for Deku previously defeating Shinsou, as a means of allowing Shinsou to display how much he had improved by defeating the guy who had previously defeated *him* when they last went up against each other).

Kendo thinks she lost against Momo in a 1v1 sense. But since they have to help their other teammates, they tend to get distracted. If Kendo and Momo fought in just a 1v1, Momo would have an advantage because her quirk is very versatile, but also considered a glass cannon.

The problem with making a really smart character like Momo is that whenever anything dumb happens it doesn't really make sense ie: in this chapter you would of thought that she could of come up with a strategy in which, as Chibi said, Aoyama and Toru could play their quirks off one another rather than be useless. You can say that she's still inexperienced and isn't perfect but I still think Horikoshi shouldn't of made Momo take the L if he really wants to push how smart she is. Although it does happen in basically ever manga/ anime in which there is a really smart character, such as Death Note and Code Geass off the top of my head

Nah, Momo easily shares some of the blame. Her quirk has limitless possibilities and she keeps falling back on making the same medieval style cannon that she always falls back to despite admitting it takes her a long time to make, all the while fighting someone much more competent in hand to hand combat within striking range. She was smart to recognize Mushroom Girl as the real threat on team 1-B, but sacrificing herself for a chance to take out an enemy when the full extent of their ability is an unknown is massively stupid and ended up playing out just as badly for them. This just goes to show that being smart doesn't necessarily make you tactical. Izuku is still the biggest analytical juggernaut of the first years.

Tokoyami also make a mistake for underestimating the mushroom girl and not knocked up her also Kendo have his merits of winning aggainst Momo (for me she was naive for thinking that comeback plain was going to work and not having more possible strategies like Kendo have multiple plans to win), i know you like Tokoyami and Momo and all, and yeah, Invisible Girl and Aoyama not did great (and if you see last chapters, both was just following Momo plan after all, and because Kendo outsmarted her,it make these two fail soo fast, so technically,its not only thei fault as individual , Momo strategy and how she used both was very weak), but its not only their fault, everyone there failed as a team and team B have more teamwork than they, simple as that,that what this battle was proving, class A comparing on class B, lacks a lot of teamwork.

I wonder if Invisible Girl has some innate issues she's not showing anyone. Imagine being constantly invisible: Unnoticeable in normal everyday life and can't get attention from pros simply because it's hard to see her. Facial expressions during conversations are gone, so she has to make up for it with her voice and body movements (assuming she's clothed) for basic conversations. I'm not a young girl, but I'm pretty sure most have a desire to be pretty or cute and admired by others. Her room definitely reflects this. I'm probably not making as good a point as I could be, but my overall point is that all her life she may have had to be loud and expressive so people wouldn't forget she was there. Having to repress such a big and important part of your personality can't be easy.

You really don't need skill in CQC to use a taser. Martial arts won't stop you from getting tased, or shot. Tasers usually fire out a low range dart attached to a conductive wire. Much faster than a normal human being could react. Besides, it would completely stop Kendo from using her quirk because she'd be a huge target otherwise.

For the Todoroki match, I think Tetsutetsu is gunna pull out a red riot unbreakable like form, and class B will take down the other three class A members, but Todoroki will 1v4 and win. this fight is a great place for him to show off his other ultimate move(s) because really all we've seen him do are shoot a giant stream of fire, and make a giant wall of ice. He has the potential to have really cool and powerful moves, like maybe making a smokescreen from combining the two sides of his quirk, or potentially making ice weapons sub-zero style. For the Bakugo fight, from a narrative perspective, i think they'll lose (even tho they really shouldn't) I bet Horikoshi will let bakugo get trapped by glue, and the rest of the team will fall from there. then it will come down to the Deku/shinso rematch fight, and class A will lose there. Monoma will probably get mineta or mina with shinsos quirk by talking shit, and deku will 1v1 against shinso somewhere off to the side, giving him a full chance to show off everything he's learned, eventually catching him and winning it for class B.

I hope there's an arc in My Hero where Horikoshi lets reality set in for some of the students who may simply not be cut out to be heroes. Like with Gentle (but to a lesser extent). Law of Averages states that there will def be some students that understand they aren't made for this, and will find another occupation.

Wouldn't this have been the perfect opportunity to show off like anything about Toru's quirk? So why did Horikoshi choose to hold back on the details of her quirk for this arc despite the lack of formal description for her abilities and one display of her ability. Either this is set up for an arc for her or she is holding back and te traitor.

Momo should train herself physically and her quirk too, like I could see her making a taser wrist attachment that shoots wire tasers, a net gun, pepper spray, and flash bombs,temporary quirk erasing darts,and any other weapons that she can come up with.
