Davies will likely ignore the retcon rather than fix it since he and Chibnall are mates. Fair play I wouldn’t do that too a friend either, even though Chibnall would kind of deserve it after wiping his arse on Moffat’s development of the story and characters; “Gallifrey falls no more?” “Going home the long way round?” “Oohhhh wealllly mister Moffat? Well watch this:”. Disgusting thing to do the man who got him his dream job, but two wrongs don’t make a right so RTD will likely soft retcon it by ignoring it and leave the clear up to his successor.

@Lyncan heres the thing that most people dont consider, and dont get me wrong, chibnall objectively doesn't know how to write sci fi, much like others i dont like his work, however to me, doctor who has been soft rebooted, its still the universe just with new and changed lore added, even if it is bad *cough* Timeless child *cough*, all that matters is the actual quality of the show

I mean they could always just have the Master reveal it was an elaborate ruse to try and make the Doctor regenerate or use excessive regeneration energy. That’s the easiest way to fix it. Have Ruth be someone the Master put under mind control or something, and those things he showed her could be his memories. Let’s be honest the Timeless Child works a lot better as The Master because it would give him reason to hate the Time Lords so much. If any plot breaking thing happened since the Timeless Child I have no clue what it is because I stopped watching after that. So I can only give a way to fix it up to that point.

If you read my comment, I say that she has talent because of Broadchurch NOT because of Doctor Who. By that logic, for years, Colin Baker would have zero talent because he was considered the worst portrayal of the Doctor for a while. Chibnall was a company hack who delivered what the beeb wants in the way it asked for. Like Chibnall is a gray sponge, a cog in the machine.
