Thanks to SRResquire for a great video. I noted that there were 3 viewers who gave a thumbs down to this film and I sure would like to know what they found wrong with the film or how it was shot or whatever it was about the film that they did not like. In my opinion, this is truly one of the better defensive fire containment videos (surround, drown, contain) that I have ever seen on social media. Inasmuch, as there was a sufficient number of water towers and monitor guns on both sides of the building containing the fire within the structure, there are no firefighters shown to be in danger and all fire apparatus were placed outside of the building's wall collapse zone. All I have to say is, well done Chicago FD, well done !!!

Great video. Any idea if the Tower Ladder in the rear, backed up into the rear of building flowing water, what unit is that? Is it a reserve unit or in service front line unit? It looks on the older side because of the LTI labeling, but I can’t see a unit number at all. Anyone know? Thanks!!!!!! Again, great job.

I'm replying to your comment really late but to answer it : firefighters are under the control of the Incident Command and they cannot do anything unless given orders also firefighters have specific tasks that they perform on a scene such as searches & rescue others do hose and fireground work like setting up ladders , then there are switch out crews on staging for whenever interior crews actively working inside of the structure need to be relieved for rehab services at the EMS staging area. Everything done on a fireground has to go through the (IC) for further instructions.

Typically during exterior/defensive operations firefighters won't be masked up, or in some cases drop their packs all together. If they aren't going in, and aren't going to really be exposed to any of that smoke, there's no reason or sense in it.
