American here, it's very common. Our system is green -> yellow (telling drivers to slow down) -> red -> green, and so forth

Chicago has 2000+ skyscrapers. One of the top five largest concentrations of skyscrapers in the world. It's downtown extended FURTHER than the one direction OP filmed and drove. Its massive. Plus NYC and the world has to give thanks to King 👑 Chicago city. Chicago invented and gave the world skyscrapers
