Jesus Christ!!! This is my childhood in vivid color. What a treasure trove of carriers of that time. Question: how on earth did you manage to not include a single Midway Airlines jet at Midway Airport? That is a feat in itself. I would hopefully assume that the complete video contains much more, yes?

I am finding some inconsistencies with the 1993 year. The Lufthansa 742 according to airfleets was scrapped in 1980. And that America West at 8:10 is registered N620AW. That aircraft is stored now but was with America West only for a year from 1989-1990 and then became a US Airways aircraft. Perhaps this is a collection of footage from different years.

Far as I know, the only airline flying on the US-RU routes now is Aeroflot (with Delta occasionally adding a seasonal JFK-SVO route), with routes being SVO-JFK (3x daily 2xA333 and 1x77w) SVO-MIA (A332/A333 depending on capacity) SVO-IAD (A332) SVO-LAX (A332/77w depending on capacity) They also have the flights to Havana, Cuba, operated by A332. What's wrong with the winglets? The only thing really to be missed is the variety as it was before a lot of mergers. I don't really differentiate the sounds of engines. But with that said you couldn't find out what type of plane or route it was at your fingertips with flight aware. Or listen to ATC

@@kinkisharyocoasters Winglets make the plane look ugly, especially the really large winglets. The clean lines of the wing are broken up from the side and the back and front. I think Airbus has some really tiny ones on some planes that are barely noticeable so aren't too bad but Boeing has terrible ones. At least the 777 and 787 don't have them. the a350 winglets are terrible too.

Dude, right around this time I got to fly on one of those tiny northwest dc-9s to visit my grandparents in Florida. Those were some of the greatest times of my life. I looked forward to it every year and to see that plane (even knowing there’s a slim possibility that I rode that particular one) is outstanding.

That American Airlines DC-10 @ time stamp 6:06 🥺 Ironically, today happens to be May 25 ( 2024 ). Every year on this day, I honor those who died in that tragic accident, along with our military personnel and veterans on Memorial Day.

It’s so weird to think about how people back then looked at these planes as modern and efficient, now we look at them like they’re dinosaurs. Also how people 20 years from now are going to be looking at our planes today and laugh at them.

Exactly! That’s why I want to fly more before all the aircraft we consider modern will be a good memory when I’m older

The Southwest Airlines The Spirit Of Kitty Hawk I have pictures of which was later painted into the Canyon Blue color. Now parked at the museum on otherside of Dallas Love Field Airport, Texas which is a walk on, part of it is inside & the rest is outside. Been a few years & I need to go back to visit.
