I don't think it's a D for the Astros, they did remove an $18 million dollar hit from their 2025 payroll. The Cubs can easily afford to absorb that contract. Now trade Bellinger to the Yankees, and make them bleed when doing so. By the way CBS, Bellinger was already in pinstripes, with the team that invented the pinstripe uniform by the way.

For Tuck being under contract for 1 more year, I thought it was a great trade for the Astros. Tucker wasn't resigning in Houston. They get an All-Star 25 year old 3rd baseman with 3 years of team control, the Cubs 2024 1st rounder, and a solid pitcher who can start. They shoulda traded Tuck last year, but at least they didn't let him walk....which they have a tendency to do. Hopefully, they trade Framber as well. Astros needed to reload.

Astros lost Springer to the Blue Jays, Correa to the Twins and Bregman will probably sign with the Yankees - Houston was not going to re-sign Tucker in a year, so trading him now makes sense. Astros farm system has a lot of OF prospects…they traded two OF prospects away in the Verlander deal to the Mets. Alvarez, McCormick, Meyers and Dubon will handle the OF…maybe re-sign Heyward cheap…Melton and Cole should be ready soon for their MLB debuts. Leon and Corona can fill if Trammel and Hummel cannot manage spot OF duty.
