I was AT this game sitting about 7 rows back of home plate. It stands as the greatest moment of my being a baseball fan. Still remember the light rain, and the heavy celebration! 13-12.

I was at this game...sat in centerfield just behind the hitters backdrop. Stayed entire game, probably less than 500 fans left when it ended. Would like to see the Pittsburgh feed of the game. We were only people left in outfield, so the Pirates broadcast showed us a few times between innings.

I can't even believe someone saved this. For many years I considered this game to be the absolute nadir of my life as a Cubs fan.

I remember a game in Cincinnati in '95 that we led 5-3 in the 10th and then gave up four in the bottom of the inning. Memorable but not nearly as memorable as this one.

The Pirate Managers from 1986-2005, were all apart of this game. Jim Leyland 1986-1996, Gene Lamont 1997-2000, Lloyd McClendon 2001-2005.

EPIC comeback(s) by the Battlin' Buccos in THIS one! I REMEMBER that weekend! TWICE in three days they overcame a grand slam homer by future Hall of Famer Andre Dawson! A game for ALL Pirate fans to relish HERE!

Rick Brosh I just wish they could replace the Cubs announcers with Lanny Frattare “There was noooooo doubt about it!”

Rick Brosh, do you have on VHS, Cubs-Pirates (4-21-1991) from KBL, or audio, Cubs-Pirates (4-21-1991) from KDKA Radio and the Pirates Baseball Network?

@@mariepavlov9144 No, I recorded a replay of this broadcast off of ESPN Classic years ago (a recording whose whereabouts I lost track of and/or lost), but I haven't seen tell of any available replays of it off of Pirates radio and TV.

Was at this game with my Dad and Brother. We left early thinking Pittsburgh got spanked only to hear on the radio on the way home that the buccos made an amazing comeback to win the game.

I’ve never understood the idea of going to a game just to leave early. I guess because I grew up in Las Vegas where we didn’t have pro sports team.

The 1991 Cubs, as hard as it is to believe now, were picked by many experts to win the NL East and perhaps the pennant. The funny thing was their three key free agent signings-George Bell, Danny Jackson, and Dave Smith-all ended up on the DL to end the disappointing season.
@nintendofan60997 жыл бұрын
I think they were actually favorite by some to win the world series that year.
@chaddalrymple48347 жыл бұрын
I believe you might be correct. Rarely does a team spend its way to a world title. The rare exception is the 1997 Florida Marlins.
