The "Glasgow Smile" is spoke about in this documentary, but the "Glasgow Send-off" isn't. That's when you stab someone up the arse with a knife. When they go to hospital and get stitches in, every time they go to take a shit, when they sit on the toilet the stitches burst open. Fkin horrendous and just like the double razor, a cunter to heal.

Hi there(Enjoyed several of your videos so-far) im from glasgow originally and in my era gang violence and stabbing were so normal that it wouldnt have even made the headlines of a news paper( when i visit family up there) im glad to see that it has improved a-lot socially and economically besides the odd ned( Non educated delinquents) most of the younger generations are more educated with a different mindset thankfully....Just one correction you should make before making any of these videos are( you made several references about it being ireland) Glasgow is not part of ireland it is in Scotland which is part of the UK, so its a completely different country and culture( not being funny) but its good to educate the viewers watching with accurate information(From my observations) i notice some Americans have this tendency classing the Scottish and Irish as the same( they may have some similarities) but both nations still have their unique differences!!!

Back then during the billy boys time you absolutely right about racism except the racism would be purely Catholic vs Protestant as there was very few people from other ethnicities during that time. It wasn’t until after WW2 that people from other races started to migrate to the UK. My mum who was born in Luton can remember during her childhood how Luton started to become multi cultural. Mainly Indians and blacks but then other ethnic groups as well. Btw, a very notorious gangster and the probably the greatest of all was Arthur Thompson. Paul Ferris was his henchman and took over Arthur’s empire of gangs and drugs etc after Arthur’s demise, I’d love it if you do a video on him, you can find videos about him on KZbin 😉

Football was the only release for most of the poor people in Glasgow. The trouble is much wider spread than just Glasgow, which is shown by the St Mirren game. Sectarian hooliganism has been going on here since the 19th century. I wonder how many of them actually go to church? It's just so deep-rooted and become tribal. A Celtic / Ranngers game can be a dangerous place if it all kicks off between the fans.

Used to be the case where if you carried a knife you were seen as a bam, and only people who could go a square go were respected. That wasn't even very long ago but things have changed now all the wee guys look up to stabbers. Don't get me wrong obvioualy I know people used knifes back in the day aswell but the days of the square go are long gone & I remember when I was a wee guy people who used knifes were looked down on & my local team really wouldn't have c*nts with blades hanging around with us although they did fight & drink & do all the other young team stuff... but when I got to like age 15 I was kicking about with fannys from a different part of my town who all carried tools & fought with others who used tools & basically every single one of them are in the jail now

hi from scotland...... enjoyed your video, first and i feel like first of many of yours i have seen and credit where credit is due....but i have got to ask, and it's not meant as an offense, criticism, judgement, insult or complaint/negative view. (at least definitely not intended maliciously) Iv'e been noticing a pattern for years now, when Americans, (of all origins/ethnicity's) are doing a reaction video and in particular on uk topics which, as admitited by themselves, they have limited or zero knowledge of. There is overwhelmingly a counterproductive and frustrating habit of stopping the video frequently and often, to say "why this, why that" and (more annoyingly) to point out "they should have done this" or that or "why don't they explain it better" yet if you would be patient, most of the time and normally immediatley after pausing, for sometimes several minutes, when started again it's explained... I may seem like im overreacting, (as is quite often misconstrued about myself) but actually have an unnecessary insecurity of being misunderstood or someone/people think im insulting / judgjng which is far from what im like..... Anyway just find it interesting when a Reaction video is stopping for at times several minutes, to pass opinion , (when not enough time has passed to learn about the situation/culture) when half the purpose is learning about a subject previously unknown to any real exctent. i also think (taking into consideration im no expert on the insanity of a country with armed citizens) but gang fights, especialy the idiots with blades, are a better option than constantly having young folks shot to death and familys ruined by loss and often retaliation killings....with said guns... Would rather have a scarred up family member than many members shot dead..... Peace, love and laughter to all yall. especially as they don't....cost.....anything.

I think gangs come about when individuals are beaten down by a system can’t get decent work and bosses and society take the piss preventing someone from progressing even getting the basics so are driven to tool up and with a team of like minded people find strength in numbers that’s how you build any fighting force Army, police, sports team, it’s a hierarchy with wannabes and personalities, friendships and rivalries it all can be to protect a group or community and so builds good will and or fear, Glasgow had the Irish Immigrants and the Protestant Scots, the rival football teams and the tough shipyard jobs power struggles like the movie on the waterfront.

I remember watching this when it came out and i was the same when they said joke i was like oh ok maybe he said a mum joke or somethint offensive but.... piss in his drink?!!!! Whattttt that aint a joke 🤣 Theres lots of 80s and 90s docs on glasgow on youtube it was a very deprived place and still is in certain area, but the crime has gone down a lot. Im from down south and go up there for work sometimes and walk about calm through the estates talking to people, some of the youngas rowdy but thats like everywhere, i was like that as a younga so not bothered, but I would never of done that in the 90s 2000s no way.

Nice woman at the end but these people don’t think the same. I wish it would be long term but a psycho doesn’t care.

You have jumped to a conclusion about racism but these gangs had sectarianism its not quite the same but there were few threats at that time from any other races so the hatred of someone who was just not praying the same way was enough.

Are you doing a reaction or not? Four minutes in all you've done is talk about cat sh*t and assure us that you're not going to lie, which I sort of took for granted.
