Keep the passes parallel to each other, and slightly overlap them, maybe one or two sixteens each pass, and finally don't lift at the end to keep your passes equal, that way you prevent most marks and a rotary sander will finish it nicely. Oh and also secure your work piece, I know this was for demo purposes only but safety first. Good demo, I will get one as soon as I have time to get to hf.

I‘d like to tell you this planer was made by our factory , do you have some good suggestion for us ?

Zhuopan Lee The dust bag had quite a few strings near the zipper, which makes it hard to close. Other than that there aren't really any problems that I have found with it.

I 'd get one but I have to wait for my 25 year old Craftsman to wear out. At this rate it will outlive me.
@AJSWoodworks7 жыл бұрын
Good ole Craftsman. If this planar breaks easily I may go for a better brand.
@henryher7 жыл бұрын
Craftsman used to make really good tools. The old ones are the best. I still have a bench grinder that I bought 30 years ago and thought it was dead because it was left outside on a work bench for three years. I had given up on it. My son was throwing the table out so he asked if I wanted to get rid of the grinder. I told him it was probably toast but let me look at it. The switch was bad so I tried a new switch. SOB that thing fired up and worked great all rusted to hell and back. I took it apart and cleaned it out, replaced the stones and bought a cheap HF stand for it. We are using the heck out of it now. I was thinking of buying a new one but no need.

FYI you can flip the exhaust port to empty on the right. You look like you’re right-handed, if you do this the bag will not be in the way.

Murmur Torres Thanks! I didn’t realize that was possible. I’ll have to try it out.

AJS Woodworks thanks for the review of the planer! I think it does a decent job and since it is a harbor freight tool you can take it back and replace it if anything is not to your satisfaction. On the opposite side of the exhaust there is a button. Push it down and push in and the exhaust tube will come out. Be aware there is a tooth on the exhaust side so when your pushing out watch that the tooth is evenly aligned with the gap so the exhaust will slide out easily. Hope this helps😄

Thank you for this. I just bought this planer and I noticed on the box the port is on the right. So I’m wondering who changed it on mine causing all the chips to blow back at me. Doh!

I bought one, but when I used it on a plank that I was trying to level out. It is leaving streaks, how do I fix that
@AJSWoodworks3 жыл бұрын
It depends on how wide the plank is. If it’s wider than the planer, you’ll have to carefully level it out. I’m afraid I don’t know an easy way though.

I'm not sure, I think it's about 10 inches long.
@grimsoul05 жыл бұрын
Ok, Thanks for the reply. I've been looking around online at hand planners but couldn't find the length for this one. Several adds would say it's 3.25 wide and none would give the length for some reason.

Hi, I just bought one of these to plane the rough face of some heart pine planks. After 9 or 10, it started making a weird noise, like a whine or rubbing noise, like it's struggling. Anyone experience this? Of course I threw the receipt away...

Mine has made a struggling noise before, but it tends to do that when it’s going over end-grain.

Hey Ben, I know its kind of late but if you give the cashier your phone number at the checkout, all your receipts get saved to your phone number in their computer system. Just go to the counter and ask for a return, say the receipt should be on file and they should be able to pull it up for you
