many of these kids come from low income families where only one parent is present or bringing money into the house. you dont have to have scholarships, you can apply for several different kinds of grants, financial aid, and student loans that dont have to be paid off until after you graduate. college should be more affordable, but its not impossible. my grants and fin aid not only paid for my degree in full, but put extra money in my pocket. GD since i was 16, now in self employed and LIVING!

I Think thats great. Someone had already told me that 26th street was a big economy. It makes sense. Not been biased but Mexican people are the hardest working poeple I know. I'm white and I've grown up in a hispanic neighborhood in chicago. Hispanics are the nicest people in the world, they've always treated me and my family with respect. I hate to see so many good kids getting into the life. I work in a hispanic community as a crossing guard and there's already been numerous shootings in the vicinity, but not at my school. I treat the kids with respect and love, I throw my temper away and never get mad at them, I'll still point out when they're doing wrong and they respect me back.
