I saw them in April 2006 at the MGM Grand Theater. Front row. So close, I could have grabbed the trombone slide & yanked him off the stage……… 😂 Original sax, trumpet & trombone players at the show I attended. Great show !! Carrot Top was in the audience as well. I had better seat than him !!!! 😮

This is better than I remembered it when I watched it live on TV on December 31, 2006. Definitely raw and live, isn’t it? No sweetened background vocals. Missing two of the then-four remaining originals for a national TV show seemed like a bad band decision.

Agreed! An enjoyable performance from this period of the band’s career. Definitely all live. Although I don’t know specifically, I would assume that the backing tracks with extra background vocals and horn parts started to be used towards the end of Jason’s tenure.

I have to admit that I still thoroughly enjoy seeing Chicago live and part of that is how the sound is so good. Somehow, magically better than it sounded when the boys were in their 20s and 30s. It still really feels live. The lead vocals are live, the instruments are live. Robert sings lead at age 79!

Yes! I still enjoy seeing the band today despite the set being pretty much the same as it has been for the past 7-8 years. It is clean, polished and well produced. I appreciate both the way they perform today and the way they performed back in the day when they were full of energy and ambition, going for blood at every show!

You are so right. He be-bops and scats all over the place. I saw an online concert where he sang “Color My World” and was absolutely terrible. Take his microphone away and let him concentrate on his keyboards. Haven’t seen them live on concert since Bill was cut loose. They’re probably not far from announcing their farewell tour. If anyone has any information regarding how much longer they plan to keep touring please post it.
