Best song they ever did. Horns all the way through. Starts strong and stays that way. The title only sung once as the last words of the song. Never will get tired of this great song.

None of Chicago's songs actually sounds "brass centered". They use the horns in just the right way: they don't dominate the song or crowd out the rest of the band. The horns seem like near-perfect ornamentation or augmentation to great songwriting.

Absolutely! Anyone who says Jason doesn't have the range to sing the songs like he used to needs to listen to him do Questions 67 & 68. And for those who are unaware, this is performed in the ORIGINAL key that Peter sang it in 1969. Chicago re-recorded this and many of their hits (from Peter's era) for "Chicago XXXV: The Nashville Sessions" all in the same key, arrangement, tempo, and nearly note for note as the original recordings. Questions 67 & 68 is the stand-out recording on that album, in my opinion, largely due to Jason's vocals.

@@3rdRockRider That's why I say, that Jason has pretty much a pretty wide range as Peter has, if not exactly the same range, at least is very very close, and this song fits Jason's voice perfectly, this is the proof. Jason covers those high vocals pretty well and his voice doesn't sounds bad or weak at all. Other occasion Jason in which performed this song was at the Night & Day concert tour they did and the show was in Japan in December 1995. That time, he sang this song in japanese, but man, what a range and how strong his voice sounded, so high and full of strenght and energy. He was 33 at the time, and was so happy, recently married!! 😀 A lot of enthusiasm he had. Surely it helped a little with the song's delivery!!

@broddybounce
@broddybounce 3 жыл бұрын
@@dizbrainanew Hey Lori! Cetera left the group around 1985 to take on a solo career. Sadly, despite them all being close from the beginning and through the '70s, Cetera becoming the face of the band in the '80s during the David Foster / power ballad era where he did all the lead vocals unfortunately wore down his relationships with the other members because Chicago was always a band where every member was the star - or, you can say, NO ONE was the star (hence, very few albums where there was a photo of them!). The fellow doing most of the singing in this video is Jason Scheff, who's singing Cetera's part and is someone I feel was an excellent replacement for Cetera, was with the band for 25 years, but left I think in 2018 (not necessarily his choice tho). There's another guy with the band now in his place, Neil Donell. Robert is the one playing the keyboards and who's doing the responses to Jason's singing - he's a bit older than Jason and giving a big smile when he sings (probably because he wrote the song!). He's has been with the band since the beginning and never left. And, yes, his first wife was Karen, but they were only married a year, 1970-71, and she went on to other people, yes.

@@broddybounce thank you. You wowed me with that...I appreciate it. cool stuff/and yes, Scheff does do Cetara's absence a great service. ;) I do prefer Lamms voice a bit over Scheff's. Maybe because I was used to hearing his more. Thanks again. Have always loved Chicago. They were my first concert at 11 yrs old. Saw them at the Reading Philly's stadium along with Earth Wind and Fire. Horns give me chills, but strings are my favorite kind of goosebumps.
