I used to work at Buffo's, my sister, mom and aunt (30 years) worked there... I grew up in Highwood and this is the best restaurant! Most amazing Italian beef you can find!! You can't get any better than a city deep in Italian heritage to give you true Italian food!

Back when I was in the Navy and did my boot camp in Great Lakes, illinois. I also attended electronics A school there. Someone used to deliver double Decker pizzas to the barracks. That was the best pizza I've ever eaten and I miss it. I would love it if someone could remember the name of the place. Now this was back in the early 80s.

italian here. maybe it can be that your father called you buffo not cause you a joke but because buffo in italian slang mean "DEBT". loan or debt are very commonly, especially in rome area, called buffi and in italy if you use it, it is so common that even people that use other slangs (word are completely different 2 hour drive in italy) will know you from rome. now if your father was from rome it is a no brainer.
