Chicago pizza has a crust that is real thin, overly floured and cracker like, the sauce is sweet with too much sugar, the cheese has no pull and comes all off in one bite, and they cut it in squares. You are preposterously clueless. Summer is when Chicago comes alive. There are non stop activities, such as concerts, shows and functions in Grant Park, Millenium Park. Lively and well attended street festivals throughout the city neighborhoods, every week. The air and water show along the lakefront. Taste of Chicago food festival.People live in Chicago for the summer. Whereas in other cities, folks flee the city during the hotter months, in Chicago its the reverse. In my 30 years of living in Chicago, Milwaukee comes up in conversations about as much as any other suburb, which is barely ever. Chicago is a world class city, not just another rust belt town, boasting third tier attractions. Chicago is justly renowned fir its architecture, dining establishments, it's contributions to American popular culture and music. The world comes to Chicago, for this and many other reasons. This comparison between the two cities is superficially silly and nothing but nonsensical click bait. What i find fascinating is despite being much smaller, downtown Milwaukee seems alot bigger and built up in its downtown than even other downtowns of bigger cities down south, or west like Phoenix or oddly, nwi (nw indiana, a region of Indiana with almost over 800,000 which is about 200k more than Milwaukee) yet still a much nicer more prominent and attractive cityfront on the lake, than gary or Houston or Dallas.... ive visited each city. The sprawl breaks up the buildings concentration in the texas cities although the area around the galleria 610 in Houston is not downtown, many could mistake it for being downtown since it has the height of a downtown. Geographically if say the midwest was 1 big state like texas, it could be conceivable Milwaukee-Rockford Joliet Chicago nwi Michigan City as one giant entity just as dfw metroplex or Houston conroe baytown is considered one giant city. The trip without traffic from Milwaukee through Chicago into Merrillville or into Michigan city is 2 hours of constant suburban or urban development. Foxconn and amazon have transformed lower Wisconsin into suburban places of work. And yes its interesting to note how designers out here dont want to build next to a highway, but in texas alll they do is build next to a highway or off its feeders...

Yep, Toronto is much alike Chicago with Chicago in a size comparison, but I think Toronto has more population than Chicago. As for the public transportation systems there, much same because they have subway and public bus systems except Toronto has the trolley system, while Chicago doesn’t have one. As for the airport, the area at O’Hare is much bigger than Toronto. Before the COVID-19, Toronto handled almost 56 million passengers in 2019 prior to January 1, 2020 and it lost a lot of passengers to about 15 million passengers in 2020. O’Hare handled almost 87 million passengers in 2019 prior to January 1, 2020 and after that, it lost to around 35 million passengers in 2020. Thank a lot to Trump for neglecting the virus and also thanks a lot to China for not telling the truth until around early fall season in 2019. Oh well…. I live in Milwaukee. There's not much comparison. Chicago is at least five times larger both in area and population. The economics are a lot different and the laws are different since they are in different states. Milwaukee has a higher crime rate per population but Chicago just feels more dangerous. The only thing they really have in common is the Lake and a mutual hatred of California sports teams.

I have never been to Milwaukee and I'm researching and comparing both cities . I have been to Chicago and I love the city . Having lived in some of the biggest cities around the World . Truly ,Chicago is full of Charms , not just the skyscrapers , the city planners do have everyone in mind when it was planned ; the bus systems , parks , bike lanes , bus stops are designed to be convenient . Another place that comes close to Chicago planning is Honkong and Toyko .

Milwaukee gets it's name from the Potawatomis "Mahn-ah-wauk" meaning council grounds. That's why they have Summerfest. Chicago's name also has native origins. The Algonquins “shikaakwa,” meaning “striped skunk" or " Onion " because it stinks

I thought that too until I realized that's likely not going to ever happen due to one big reason and that's where Chicago is located. It's located legit right near a large body of water and if you look at the other 2 largest cities ahead of Chicago(Los Angeles & New York), there legit right near large bodies of water as well. I would even make the argument that Miami should be the 4th largest city instead of Houston due to it being so close to the water but I think because of the threat hurricanes and etc it isn't. There's a reason Chicago has always been in the top 3 in largest cities in population ever since the Stat was recorded and Houston likely won't ever take the 3rd spot. (Kinda like how LA and Chicago will never be number 1 in largest city in America, maybe even switching between the 2 and 3 spot at some point in time.)
@johnbehrens645 Жыл бұрын
Chicago, was once the second largest city in the U.S. for many decades until Los Angeles passed Chicago up in about 1982. But, at least Chicago still currently has been the number 3 city for over 40 years...

@DavidOurs3 жыл бұрын
Interesting how this video just used stock photos for Milwaukee for like everything. You are basically comparing apples to oranges. Just cause both are on lake Michigan they are not the same. Chicago got it's boom after the chicago fire burned it to the ground clearing space and a large population of unhoused workers. My favorite fact you skipped is Chicago means Onion Field. Milwaukee means the good land. That's the only thing you need to take away from this.

Just to point one thing out: the dc metro has more riders than the L, although the dc metro serves practically the entire metro area, while combined the Chicago area has more riders since metro serves most of the suburbs

True, as the cta blue line has both a start and terminus from ohare to forest park. Just after ohare is the Cumberland stop, a stop in Rosemont, which is not inside actual Chicago city limits, and neither is the forest park stop by 290 and desplaines ave.
