In Berkeley, at the University of California, he received his Ph.D. in 1972 after carrying out research at the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory. In that same year, he began lecturing at Princeton University. Kaku then moved on to research quantum mechanics at The City College of The City University of New York (CUNY) and he holds the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in theoretical physics at the CUNY where he has taught for over 25 years. He, along with fellows who are also educated theoretical physicists, e.g. somebody who is skilled in considering theories, or is learned in the theoretical aspect of a subject. If their theory can be applied to developing a physical realization, then they can claim they “invented” something without having to actually build whatever it may be. I have had sleep paralysis all my life, but I experience it when I am just falling asleep. It is actually very frightening at times to be conscious and paralyzed, fighting to "break out" of it. Thankfully, this has been much less frequent as I've gotten older.

Yep can happen either way. I think it's more like 1% of the population actually experience it though and the majority never more than once. I've had it in the hundreds sometimes 4-5 times a night.

Oh Thank you for this I have had the same all my childhood until I had to Do something. One of the many nights as I was ready to go under the same paralysis I was going every night , I jumped up . I jumped towards this visual of a shadow at the end of my bed . I jumped against this "woman in black " that was inducing the paralysis as I thought. Well it worked

I’ve been watching Mr. Kaku for years. He is very likable and always gives valuable insight into the latest science in layman’s terms. One thing I can’t figure out is why there is so much optimism regarding our scientific community’s ability to cope with an asteroid hitting the planet by leaving the Earth or deflecting it, but if the sea level rises a few inches, we’re sh** outa luck.
