I am a theoretical physicist. There are people who claim to have seen a point. Those who claim they have seen a point are delusional. A picture of a point can be observed a point can not. Gauss pointed this out. Gauss to Bessel Goettingen 9 April 1830 … The ease with which you delved into my views on geometry gives me real joy, given that so few have an open mind for such. My innermost conviction is that the study of space is a priori completely different than the study of magnitudes; our knowledge of the former (space) is missing that complete conviction of necessity (thus of absolute truth) that is characteristic of the latter; we must in humility admit that if number is merely a product of our mind.

Fun fact Albert Einstein thought he was stupid in his early years. He wasn't able to find jobs anywhere. He even wrote to his family that "he wished he was never born". Then somehow his father managed to provide him with Clark Jobs. He even thought of selling insurance door to door. But then came his miracle years. From that Clark Jobs he wrote some papers that changed and revolutionised physics forever. So, my point here is don't think you are stupid and if you do think that you are stupid then my friend you are just the opposite (intelligent) (Dunning Krueger Effect). So, keep on learning and improving yourself. And as always "stay curious".👍

So much technological speculation and focus. While technological advancement will be a component of the future (of course), humanity will be much more concerned with meeting the basic needs of people - a growing population in a declining world. A world with a damaged and changing climate and environment, which will yield less food and less freshwater in many regions. A world of diminishing resources and ever greater potential for disastrous conflict over them. And, as is still largely unrecognized; but is critically important, a world that is being manipulated by intervening forces and groups from beyond the world. The future will be unlike the past, and it will be very challenging. In order to understand this and prepare for it, I recommend the extensive materials published by Marshall Vian Summers.

We've been here a few [tens or hundreds of] thousand(s) of years and already face HUGE obstacles *of our own making* (in addition to natural disasters/extinction events). Dinosaurs roamed the planet for tens of MILLIONS of years. It's not clear yet that our amazing brain and skills have a great effect on our collective longevity or ability to "control our destiny".

He even does it in this very talk, I thought at 15:38 that the video started all over again because he used the exact phrase he used in the beginning, like people laugh about the same joke they heard twice in 15 minutes. Everyone who has seen some videos of him has heard about his "Einstein's desk" story, his accelerator story, his "one inch long - string theory of everything is what I'm living for" story, "cockroach ASIMO joke", type 1-3 civilizations with us being 0. This goes on for freaking years now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGKciqyYjZtpg7s This is a link to a video almost 10 years old including: - his desk story - his accelerator "japanese girlfriend" story - Moore's Law - the ASIMO retarded cockroach story, - the "what does the sun go around" - the wormhole story - and of course the "types of civilization" It's basically the exact same thing, nothing has changed in almost a decade, he's just regurgitating the same stuff all the time, it's actually sad.

Mad respect for Dr. Kaku, but if i were taking a shot every time he said "I'm a physicist", by the middle of the video my liver would've already shut down. He's a physicist - i get it, but imagine: "So i'm a dentist, and we dentists believe, that in the next couple generations the wisdom teeth won't be no more" or something

Sorry dude, no matter where you are in your profession you are totally disrespecting this rock star. He is of the Stephen hawking league of geniuses. Please do not let his humble demeanor fool you. He is privy to information us lay folks may never even suspect exist. Your attempt at childish humor is not funny. Read his books.

@@unboundpromethius9032 Apparently 7 people did find it funny. And i'm sorry that you don't. But fan-girling about him under a minor comment in KZbin, that he won't ever see, is an overkill. As for that last question, he had previously said he thinks we would become a type III civilization within 100,000 years or so, meaning we could control galaxies. If that is true would that mean if you wanted to keep earth as a utopian wildlife reserve we could move it into further elliptical from the sun as it expands so the temperature is ideal for earth? Or could possibly having the power of being a type III civilization allow us to control the expansion of the sun and keep it steady to preserve Earth? Amazing conversation. I wish I was there so I could have asked this and hear his opinion. I think just having a conversation with him would be really cool.

Fireteam Omega uh string theory. Particle accelerator became the large hadron collider.. about to finish the last part of Einstein’s book. More theories. What you’re referring to is “engineering” if you wanted something tangible. Engineering is where the information is already readily available and it is just a “put it together” concept. Michio focuses on the “unanswered questions” of the universe. That’s how we are going to have jump drive and artificial gravity in space in the future. We need these physicists to continue focus these type of theories.

Absolutely, cataclysmically, and eternally obliterated (or in other words, damn, dude... roasted)! 😂😂😂 On a more serious note, I couldn't agree more! To me, it seems as though the subpar audio quality of this content can be attributed to the fact that Google sometimes takes their penny-pinching tendencies a little too seriously, regardless of their globally recognized status as a massive tech giant, and the ludicrous financial prosperity that follows! Google is far beyond capable in their freedom and ability to allocate the required financial resources that are deemed necessary in their attempts to cultivate any given project. Obviously, if creating this type of content is something they want to continue doing, it would be a wise move for them to throw a little bit of money at it in attempts to bring up the production value. This would enable the content quality to mirror the brand quality they have successfully built for themselves over the years.

@21:52 in 10 years or less, silicon transistors will become obsolete; scientists need an alternative material to keep up with processing power - most likely to be replaced with molecular transistors or "DNA transistors" . ... interesting, some questions please... How would you convince a population to allow their DNA be altered in order for this to work? And would there be patent ownership of the newly modified DNA? If so, who would own the patent, and would that organization also own the person with the DNA modifications?
