I just watched this episode and I am completely devastated. I haven't stopped crying. I can't imagine station 51 without Shay, I feel like I can't keep watching the series anymore. It hurts much. I can't believe the writers did this, it's just terrible. The worst thing is that before I started watching Chicago Fire I knew that Shay was going to die, but I didn't think it would be so soon. Time was too short, I need more from Shay. I am just broken. update: I couldn't stand it, I'm watching the first episode of the first season again.

The writers of this show tend to treat their female characters poorly. They either just exist to be love interests (Matt’s firs Fiancée) be bad replacement characters (Chilli) or creator’s pets. For real I think the girls in Chicago PD get much, much better treatment than in fire. In Med too, but there is a lack of female characters in that show

I’m telling you it was THE biggest mistake to kill Shay off. She was a very interesting character with many more stories to tell. So sad to watch this. And especially seeing Kelly live without her… It breaks my heart ❤ Fun fact: It happened that this was the first ever episode I have watched of Chicago Fire.
