This was a pretty realistic representation of sadness or depression when it comes to teenage beauty standards. Also the way she said she didn't know wether she wanted to kill herself or not. A lot of depressed people doesn't really want to "die" they just want the bad things in their lives to go away. I'm depressed and don't want to die at all, but it's the only way out of the life I've been given.

Having been suicidal myself.. it is not the only way, it is the only way you are able to see at the moment.. not the same thing:) Someone once said, if you feel there is no way out, close your eyes, and remember the good. It is hard at first, but a pretty flower, a smile, a funny kitten.. more personal memories? Remember the good, it tends to drown in misery, but it matters, best wishes:)

I'm going to leave this here, but the older generation had a significant impact on how these beauty standards came to be. Millenials were ingrained with the idea that image is everything. You have to dress like this, look like that, always be on your best at any time. I've lived it myself. I couldn't even wear what I wanted when going to the shop with my mom. She never admitted it but when I wasn't dressed like she wanted, she was just embarassed. I loved some clothes in my closet and wore them when wanting to be comfortable. She hated it and always pushed me to wear the newest things out, especially when with her. She doesn't understand how she much she contributed to my bad self image and appearance issues. I feel like I'm not allowed to be who I want to be.
@rachelcookie321

People claim kids are dressing to old for the age now but this has always been a thing. Look back 100 years ago and the teenagers are dressed like mini adults. It’s actually more freaky because they look like middle aged people.

Even the vitiligo-thing turned out to be false, the fear of any kind of skin or body modifiyng sickness can be really depressing. I have vitiligo. It started when i was 8 after a pretty rough sickness. It did not hurt, but it was visible and many others who dont know any about this condition mocked and even hurt me because of it. I was ashamed and and spend most of my teenage years in full, body hiding clothes, which high insecurities what i still had. Now i look at it and said it not that so bad. Now its not spreading anymore, not hurt, not infectious, i just need to be careful with the sun.But it showed me how people can be cruel and stupid and hurt another one, juts because they're different.

This is such a weird episode. Dr Charles falls over a suitcase and hurts his knee, then seems perfectly happy to have people push him around in a wheelchair the whole time.

What’s so weird about that? Also, the actor probably hurt himself irl and they needed an excuse for him being in a wheelchair.

Something you must keep in mind being on social platforms like Instagram, KZbin, etc. is that a lot of people may know you but you don´t know everyone of these people which is why you shouldn´t care so much about what they may think about you because they only know a part of you.

This episode kinda hits close to home personally because I have vitiligo and being a twelve year old girl it makes me feel so ugly and since I am white (not being racist bc BLM) it shows alot and I have it on my knees, ankles, my elbows and my back. This just shows how messed up the beauty standards are.
@rachelcookie321
@rachelcookie321 2 жыл бұрын
I mean it shows less if you’re white. It’s a lot more obvious if you have a darker skin colour. Also, you don’t need to put a disclaimer that you’re not racist when ever you mention race lol. It’s only racist when you say something bad about another race.

So dr Reese was meant to be going into pathology after she finished her ED rotation. Because she ‘applied ‘ to go into pathology. But she fell in love with the ED so decided that she would quit going into pathology and try to work in the ED. But she couldn’t because of like a whole bunch of stuff, so she had no job so became a barista in the hospital. Then Dr Charles decided to offer Dr Reese a position in Psychiatry since she was good at that side when she was working in the ED
