Olinsky's Daughter Trapped In Flames | Chicago Fire

Olinsky turns up to a treacherous warehouse fire begging Bodden to search for his daughter.
Season 5 Episode 15 "Deathtrap"
51 responds to an out of control warehouse fire with dozens of victims inside. The team races against time to try and save them all. One of the victims is Alvin Olinsky's (guest star Elias Koteas) daughter Lexi who was found in critical condition. Later on, 51 joins forces with Hank Voight (guest star Jason Beghe) and the police department when they discover that the fire was intentionally set. Also, Severide tries to get in contact with Anna.

Heavy casualties. So many people killed and injured in that one fire. How someone can start a fire like that, with the intent of causing bodily harm or even death, is more than I can comprehend. Poor Alvin and every single person who lost someone in that fire.

What I love is the leadership Boden shows: he pulls his people when it gets too dangerous, but doesn't think twice about going in himself. Also Casey who clearly wants to rush in and help and yet shows restrain and focuses on protecting the others when Herman wants to run inside and help.

I live in south of Brazil, and something like this happened in my state a couple years ago. A fire start at a club and a lot of young people didn't make it, it was terrible. This reminded me so much of that day :/

for our US friends: he is referring to the Kiss Nightclub Fire, in Santa Maria, a 200k people (give or take) city in the south of Brazil. 242 dead, 636 wounded. The second worst fire in number of deaths in the history of our country, only behind the fire in the North American Grand Circus in Niterói (state of Rio de Janeiro), that killed 503 people in 1961.

Also that last scene is giving some thoughts about the big fire at a discotec in Göteborg Sweden 29 of October 1998 where 63 young peolpe perished and 214 injured, many for life. And that just becuase some punks didn't get free entry and wanted revenge by setting the building on fire.

This episode is actually partially based on a real life story. The Oakland warehouse/Ghost Ship fire was a warehouse that was being used by artists as a creative and living space although it was not designed for it, on the night of the fire a large concert was being held which led to chaos and disaster when a fire broke out and there wasn't any fire prevention methods installed (well marked exits, sprinklers, fire extinguishers)
