Pauling is the Administrator's assistant. The Administrator is only heard in game. She is the announcer voice during a match. Pauling only gets one day off a year from work. Administrator herself only takes an hour off a year. She goes and feeds pigeons during that, watching them fight over bread crumbs.

The Expiration Date actually was a pilot for a TF2 TV series on Adult Swim. Unfortunately Valve couldn't keep up with deadlines and the series was cancelled. Instead they used it to promote Love & War Update (aka Bread Update) that brought new weapons, reskins, cosmetic items, item sets, new achievements, startup themes and taunts.

Valve has "lol we don't need to worry about money anymore" money, so they just _try stuff._ Sometimes, it works spectacularly. Sometimes it doesn't, but with their ludicrous buffer zones, they still turn a profit. Steam's tiny margins add up.

Miss Pauling works with the Administrator (the announcer during the game), to aid both RED and BLU team in order to keep them fighting each other. The purple clothing of Miss Pauling symbolizes her relationship with RED and BLU Team, as combining the colors of red and blue make purple. The Administrator also wears purple, just like Miss Pauling

They don't necessarily live in a bread factory, the game has a Cold War/James Bond-ish art style so the game takes place in places like Bread Factories, Farms, Mining Towns and Industrial Factories. But underneath it all are secret military bases, server rooms and mission control rooms for launching nuclear missiles and spying on enemies. This is why the Capture The Flag gamemode lets players capture "Intel Briefcases" and not literal Flags.

it is canonical that scout is spy's son, and you are right they do have a similar skill set when it comes to flanking and providing information for their team mates they are both recon classes, also spy does indeed care for scout but he is adamant when it comes to making sure scout doesn't find out but everyone else knows their relationship even heavy who jokingly says "your father disappears quite often" when scout mentioned that his father disappeared when he was young and he firmly believes that he died, hopefully one day we get more issue's to the team fortress 2 comic so we can finally find out what happens next with their dynamic as definitely not father and son 😉😉

Fun fact: Grant Goodeve, the voice of the Engineer, couldn't record for this short so Nolan North did the voice. Also, Robin Atkin Downes did the voice for the Medic in this short. And Ashly Burch, who did the voice of Miss Pauling, helped with some of the writing for this short.

Heya, if you are looking for more similar Team Fortress 2 content to react to, there's the "End of the Line" SFM video and pretty much all of "The Winglet"'s videos. That dude's not official but his production quality is basically on par with Valve (minus voice acting since you have to stick voice lines together from already existing ones, ocassionally he voices custom stuff)

Other modes are the standard team deathmatch and Playload, where one team escorts the bomb (seen in this video) to the other base while the other team tries to hold them off until the timer runs out.

Yeah, and there were smaller modes like Control Point, a king of the hill type, where teams take turns attacking and defend vaious points. and Payload race. two bombs and whoever blows up the enemy first wins. then there is fan made modes Versus Saxton Hale, one player is picked to play a boss character and everyone else has to kill them before time runs out. mini saxton hale, mostly run on Pony Fortress' old MLP Hero servers. standard modes like payload and control point, but each team get a "Hero" character to fight along side the team. increased health and special and ultimate abilities. Deathrun, basically just a long gauntlet of deadly traps and whoever makes it to the end alive wins. and whatever the hell the Wacky Races and Wacky Races 2 maps were. lol

Capture the Flag is only ONE of the modes in TF2. Going off the official wiki, there's also Arena, Control Point, King of the Hill, Mann vs. Machine, Mannpower, PASS Time, Payload, Player Destruction, Special Delivery, and Territorial Control. And from what I've seen on KZbin, there are plenty of unofficial mods that are their own additional mods, so players aren't without a ton of options. XD

One of the many game modes available in TF2 is Capture The Flag, however most people tend to ignore the the fact that a flag even exists to be captured and spends the entire game Death Matching. At least until someone decides that having fun is illegal and makes it their mission to end the round.
