how some of these guns reload is 100% magic, like the miracle of shotgungenering that is scouts scattergun. you fire a shot, hit the reload button, scout pulls the lever to eject the shell and then has max ammo again.

1. The ammo is coming from your reserve. In the gameplay clips on the bottom right is a fraction. The denominator of that fraction is your total ammo and the numerator is the amount in your clip (or magazine if your pedantic). 2. Demo can have a total of 8 stickybombs on the field at once. If you try and fire a ninth one, the first sticky you shot will explode to compensate. All of the stickies explode when you right click.

feel like it would be funny to note that despite the 8 sticky's being magazine fed in the drum, simply pulling on the handle will warp the sticky's from the reserve and into the magazine instead of replacing the magazine like a normal person. or my understanding of the launcher is terrible.

Also, the ammo reserve is refilled by ammo boxes. They are small brown boxes with bullet symbol on them. Small ammo: grey. Medium ammo: brown. Full refill: a large cube box with a chain of bullets hanging out. So they are not just refilled by a dispenser, so if your team doesn’t have an engineer then you would all have no ammo.

6:23 You don´t have to reload, the game automatically reloads the active weapon whhen you have one or more ammuition missing in the clip and you can cancel the reloading animation by shooting as long as you have anything in the clip. So the whole mechanic is "Don´t shoot to reload and shoot to cancel reloading." That´s literally it. The game does it for you, you have no way of screwing that up.

Helps a little in firefights and after by making it look like you fought plus if you find the reload animations distracting you can use that to reload when you want. Every little bit helps.

A good choice. Lazy purple manages to convey how to play this game while being entertaining veeeeeeery well. And you wrong. It’s the SSSSqad. Scout. Soldier. Sniper. Spy And don’t worry too much about logic in this game. There’s literally a wizard that constantly has to pay off crime groups every Halloween and the mercenaries are mostly fighting over gravel in the wider scope of things. Don’t be too worried about swearing. Everyone does it in these games, including the kids. Especially in Call of Duty.

A lot of the weapons in TF2 are nonsensical, they’re refilled just by reloading and walking over ammo, they have pointless hammers on them, they’re a candy cane, it’s part of the cartoonish charm. That sticky bomb launcher is one of many guns that has no animation of actually inserting new ammunition, and the guns that do usually have inaccurate or impossible animations.

The way TF2 handles ammo is as follows: Most weapons have what I'll call a "clip" and a "capacity." The "clip" is how many times you can fire the weapon before you need to reload, The "capacity" is how many shots you can reload before you lose access to the weapon. For instance, the Demoman's stock Grenade Launcher has a "clip" that contains up to four bombs, but the weapon's max "capacity" is sixteen, meaning you can fire the weapon up to twenty times before you run out of ammo. It is also worth noting that many weapons reload in different ways. While most reload one shot at a time, certain ones, such as the Revolver, Pistol, Force-A-Nature, Syringe Gun, and SMG, will refresh their entire clip on reload. Some weapons also handle ammo differently, however. Some, like the Righteous Bison, Pomson 6000, Manmelter, and Cow Mangler, which don't have capacity at all. They effectively have infinite reserves in their "capacity," but are still limited by their clip. Additionally, the primaries of the Heavy and the Pyro draw directly from the capacity, having no clip at all. However, there are ways to refresh your capacity. TF2's design has it so that you can pick up ammo packs scattered around the map (and dropped by enemies) to refill your capacity. You can also get them from Dispensers built by Engineers, the Resupply Cabinets found in every spawn room, and certain other methods. Because of this, items such as the aforementioned Cow Mangler and Pomson 6000 aren't necessarily overpowered, since it's not too hard to get your ammo back while in the field. This is a pretty big balancing factor, *especially* for Demoman. Demo has a generally long prep time, and it is very easy to catch a Demoman off guard. If he's used all his ammo, he's pretty much defenseless, since you can just jump in and shoot him while he reloads.

Fun fact, the geneva conventions do apply to video games! Well, in a very limited, obviously not "war crimes" sense. The red cross symbol on a white background is a symbol reserved for denoting medics protected by the geneva convention (one of "the conventions" is the medics who don't engage in combat duties are not valid targets, more or less, and this symbol is used to denote such personnel among other things). Some video game developers have received cease and desist notices for including this symbol in their games (though obviously not every developer, there's only so much time the organization defending the red cross can spend on the topic), under the logic that doing so (or at least doing so improperly) could dilute the association the symbol has with it's intended use. Which, given the importance of its intended use, is probably a good idea to protect.

There is a reason TF2 was popular for so long. Back in its golden age, it was really an attractive game because all the classes had so much depth to them. The Scout, for example, is a very simple class mechanically, but mastering him turned Scouts into something akin to soap bubbles that you try to swat out of the air. The best Scouts I've ever seen just seemed like untouchable master dodgers who could dance around in your face and still kill you. Good snipers are oppressive at denying open lines of sight. There's a lot of nuance in the game and it felt like you could always improve endlessly. Nowadays, it's hard for me to care about TF2 beyond nostalgia because of rampant hackers, lack of balance improvements and the proliferation of really bad items and cosmetics. In theory, new weapons were only supposed to be added to give alternate playstyles and tools to classes to make up for shortcomings, but often they either turn out to be useless or overpowered (which then resulted in overpowered weapons being nerfed into uselessness anyway). As it is, TF2 coasts along on life support and a small base of dedicated fans. In an alternate timeline where TF2 was still being developed sustainably, it's a game I'd still be playing to this day.

@Semitex They're pretty bad. A lot of weapons are just clear upgrades over stock, outright useless or are incredibly minimal sidegrades. It just adds a lot of false choices that I don't think should be in a game of this kind. I may be biased but I also think Homewrecker is a big middle finger to spy. since a demoman is already a better sentry-killer than spy, there just shouldn't be a way to hard-counter the sapper like that.

So, the stock sticky bomb launcher. Left click launches a bomb out. It arms after 0.7 seconds, and if it hits a surface it will stick and go through a second arming phase, which increases its damage. Right clicking detonates every sticky bomb you have launched that has completed its first arming phase. A max of 8 can be out. He has variants. Scottish resistance, which allows 14 active stickies, and controlling which detonate, at the cost of a 1.5 second arm time, and having to look at any stickies you wanna detonate (though you gain sticky sight on your bombs and can still detonate them remotely as you gain wallhacks on the bombs themselves) Quickie bomb launcher. Holds fewer in the clip, and do less damage, but arm faster, and increase in damage the more you pressurize the launcher (all launchers can pressurize by holding left click, this sends them further and faster.) Sticky jumper. Only 2 stickies at a time, and no self damage from these, allowing you to use it purely for movement. But you cannot deal damage to enemies with it. (Demo, like soldier, can launch himself by explosive jumping. The jumper allows practice in sticky jumping)

How to reload your weapon Step 1: Do nothing. You automatically reload your weapon when you’re not shooting it (as long as it’s the weapon you’re currently holding). I would recommend LazyPurple's other videos (Pyro, Engineer, Soldier, Heavy, and Sniper-- in that order). I'm a Pyro main by the way, because I love the character, how nobody knows anything about him other than he's a pyromaniacal loony, and he has some of the best cosmetics and weapons in the whole game (aside from Engineer, Soldier, and Demoman).
