personally i would say that morrowind is a very unique experince since most of the newer games keep things very simple compared. in morrowind a lot of the different secrets and hidden treasures was hidden in places you wouldn't normally be able to get to. but thanks to the magic ability to levitate, you could get to them. but a lot of them was very well hidden.

some of my favorite things to do with morrowind were: use the lock spell to lock guards behind a door, use the debuff potions/spells to make my stuff level easier, use soul trap glitch to permanently have a spell effect such as feather, some attribute boost, or summon to make an army to fight for you

Morrowind's main exploit is using spells to give yourself permanent stats. Using that, you can make yourself immune to all damage, one shot any enemy if you are armed, or two shot any enemy if you're unarmed. Skyrim's main exploit is enchantment/alchemy based. You can make all your spells free, remove the cd from dragon shouts, brew potions that heal your entire health bar in one second, make yourself immune to damage, become undetectable, and punch really stinkin' hard. Whats the mechanical difference between the two? There...isn't one. It's the same destination. And thats fine, because its a single player game. Some of my favorite games are my favorite because they have so many sneaky little tricks you can take advantage of.
