A little bit about our good friend Sseth. From what I've heard (and I cannot confirm any of this), dude's a doctor. Was working at a lab on a cure for cancer. Was told by his company to abandon the research because it wouldn't be profitable. Due to this and a few other experiences he's become quite, ah, how do we say, cynical? And he expresses this cynicism through the darkest, edgiest humor he can come up with.

Yep, he did a 3 hour long lecture about cancer immunology and some of his time in the medical industry. You can find it under the title "sseth's cancer immunology stream final" Really fascinating to listen to and gave a real in-depth look at how cancer functions and how we have been more and more successful by using alternatives to just chemo and targeted radiation. One of the most interesting parts for me were that tumor cells are best treated with multiple different therapies. Much like how bacteria can become resistant to a specific antibiotic, cancer cells can become resistant to different treatments. So, it's best to throw several treatments at it to make sure all of it is destroyed and significantly reduce the chance of it coming back with a resistance to that therapy. Also, the main cause for most spontaneous recoveries from cancer is actually getting sick. Cancerous cell have damaged part of their metabolic system to prevent them from sending out the signal to be destroyed. However, when the body gets sick, you get a fever because a warmer body temperature will increase the effectiveness of the immune system. All of your bodies cells then release a specific chemical that allows them to survive at that increased temperature. However, since the cancer cells broke their metabolic system, they can't release that enzyme. The cancer cells are then fucked both ways. If they fix the metabolic system, they then start signaling the immune system to destroy the cells, while the immune system is already hyperactive. If they don't, the cells burst from the heat, which reveals all of the cancerous issues to the immune system.

Yeah, the moment when you realize that is more profitable to let us all die and never find a real cure (or even the real reason as to why) for sicknesses than to actually help. I have many medical doctors in my family and what has that taught me? Modern medicine is a fucking joke. The only place where we are really more "enlighted" than those dude that thought they could cure the Black Plague with good smelling flowers is inside our heads.

Yes. Every single one of the things Sseth says here is true, even if much of the footage is from mods. The dark humour is barely even exaggerated for a facial slap of shock-value, because it is all there in the base game- from the daedra who promise to be gentle when he desecrate your corpse, to the depraved racist elven nationalists who use live slaves as drug-mules. The Lore being written over a five-day long amphetamine binge have been a well established rumour for years now, which Todd Howard neither deny or confirm. Everything in Morrowind feels foreign, strange yet somehow works extremely well in spite of being outright insane. But House Telvanni is the most insane facet by far. Telvanni wizards practice Ancap backyard-separatism, and the occupying imperials do not even try to levy taxes from them anymore, enforce laws or the ban on slavery, because 4000 year old wizards who clone themselves to make harems of daughter-wives do not care about an outlander's opinion on slavery. If they are weak enough to be enslaved, then they deserve it. This logic also apply to murder and theft. Steal something, and survive? Clearly, you must deserve it more! Perfect vidya logic. One of the grandmasters mention in passing he pulled a lever in a Dwemer ruin during his youth, and accidentally awoke every single steam-centurion and clockwork spider in every single dwemer ruin across Tamriel as a result, while grandmaster Neloth, who is older than even the tribunal gods, appears on solstheim during the skyrim Dragonborn expansion, which is set almost a millennia later. And that isn't even half of it. Morrowind is the best game I have played to this day, and it was released in 2002.

But is Todd Howard even the writer? I heard much of Morrowind was written by another developer, who was the inspiration for M'aiq the liar.
@HateMachinist Жыл бұрын
@@BauthorFowler Todd was on the team, but there were clearly more than one or two people there. If you pay attention, you will notice wide gaps in narrative strategy between various factions, especially imperial guard vs dunmer great houses and fighter/thief/mages guilds, all of which are very different from the imperial cult. The quests are just....built different. Many YTbers have made in-debts analyses about that.

Yes, this is an accurate review. Bethesda use to pull no punches on horrible characters or event. Now it's all milquetoast "we don't want to offend someone" shit, like the rest of everything. Sseth is from this time and still pulls no punches, which is why we love him.

Love your reaction videos. I don't fully know if you take suggestions (As i am still relatively new to your channel) however if I may suggest a video "Exploring the SCP Foundation: SCP-1730 - What Happened to Site 13?" By of course "The exploring Series" it is a very very interesting,though slightly long scp story that I find a great one to listen or read about just to pass the time as it is such a great written story that its relaxing to just sit back and listen to,even if the story itself is anything but relaxing.

Honestly cannot fault you for not picking up either morrowind nor oblivion. Both these appeal to a specific niche audience, which is why Bethesda decided to casualize/streamline/whatever the series and create skyrim, which turned out to be pretty great, i think even the hardcorest of old bethesda game fans mostly still enjoyed skyrim.

Morrowind is probably my favorite bethesda rpg. Never really got that deep into it though simply because whenever I tried the game always at some point just started breaking and constantly soft and hard crashing. I'm gonna assume it mainly not liking being run on a modern pc like a lot of old games.
