Some answers to the questions you had: 1. The green firework explosions you saw in the messing around bit were an item called "Totem of undying" which is a held item which when you would die you instead gain temporary yellow hearts and health regen. They are dropped by Evokers who spawn in rare woodland mansions or during late stages of pillager raids on villages. 2. In the nether the bastions are pretty dangerous since yes the piglins are passive towards you if you wear gold but there are golden axe wielding piglin brutes who are always aggressive and deal a hefty amount of damage. The others also become aggressive if you open a chest near them. They don't appreciate a thief. Hopefully this was a sufficient explanation. If I missed any questions or you have any more feel free to ask, I like minecraft trivia. Edit: Some grammar stuff and specifications.
