Uhhh reporting from the Automaton front right now. The good news, Malevelon Creek was liberated back on April 1st and is now firmly in Super Earth’s hands. The bad news, the bots sucker punched us so hard with a massive surprise invasion fleet a few sectors away we lost a dozen planets in a single day and are currently struggling to hold the line.

As a vet all I can say of all the clips of the super bro moments, bumping chests, high fiving with explosions going off is extremely accurate to the military lol. The creators were prior Military, Sweden if I recall so they understand weapons and weapons systems. Friendly fire is never off and when players complain about it the devs just come back with “Get better than”….Lol I love this game

Friendly fire being on is one of the key elements of the chaotic fun wtf moments in this game. My little brother tried to do the hug emote and accidentally threw an impact grenade right in my face

Fun fact: the reason the weapons in helldivers 2 sound so good and even have Rate of Fire selector switches, not to mention some actually have a crew served mode, is because most if not all of the developers served as conscripts in the Swedish military when it was still mandatory service at 18 years of age.

Oh boy, the tripods weren't the worst of it. The Illusionists and Council Members were. Thet were able to completely reverse your inputs and constantly hid behind BEEFY energy shields (think Tripod shields but even BEEFIER).

Helldiver 1 players know the 3rd faction well enough as they were part of that game - they are sort of odd mix of 40k Elder and cthulhu like beings that have psychic powers while also being very good an close range while still have hard hitting blue plasma weaponry so fun times ahead XD

Malevelon Creek was the bloodiest battle the HellDivers have ever been a part of in the start of the Galactic war and despite our efforts we lost the creek. We were forced back by the Automatons and they proceeded to march closer to super earth this loss would be leaving a bloody mark in Helldiver history But eventually after a month or so, we finally received the orders to take back the Creek and hold it and we succeeded this was truly a phenomenal event to happen in the Galactic war so much so that by presidential decree a new holiday was created called Malevelon Creek Memorial Day and along with it a brand new cape for the Helldivers all to honor the fallen heroes

Automaton Front vet here. Yes we DID took back the Creek and even pushed the whole automaton coalition out of the galaxy... As we thought. They came back, took over the Cyberstan (a homeworld of Cyborgs from 100 years ago war) and currently holding the Cyberstan sector and 2 more sectors to that. We stopped their advance but with most Helldivers prefering the bug stomping front, It doesn't seem like we will be able to retake those sectors anytime soon. On the other hand, we have rumors about returning of the faction that we thought we liberated 100 years ago. For now those are just rumors, but still... I know many rookies will call me a traitor for these words, but every forged vet understands that it is better to be ready for anything. With intel we managed to gather i can say that If it's true - we're gonna have some hard time. So Bug Stompers, start getting used to western front. If/when those blueskin abomination from history books will show up - many of skilled automaton-fighters will transfer to stop the new foe. Callsign 'Samael'. For Super Earth. Over and out.

I recommend the game highly. Be aware that slightly different weapon kits to deal with. (Bugs swarm more than bots, bots have more enemies with medium and heavy armor than the bugs)

The Eliminates from the first Helldivers game, they will be something, they have force fields, and use Arc weapons/Plasma Weapons. I know they had some from the original that could take control of players and turn them on their allies. Not sure we're ready for them yet to return.
