Actually, it won a Grammy for "Best Improvised Jazz Solo", 2 days ago in the 64th Grammy Awards. This is his 27th Grammy.

@@pabloutee Yes, this live album is released in 2018. But it had a reissue in 2021, so probably this is the reason behind its nomination. In the last Grammy awards they awarded recordings that released from September 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021.

I was at that show and it was fantastic. I've gotten to see Chick countless times starting when I discovered jazz in my teens in the 90's (with Origin, Gary Burton, an orchestra and recently with John McLaughlin for his 75th birthday). I actually got a chance to meet him at the Blue Note in New York in 1997. I waited outside of his dressing room and asked him to chat in between sets. He said he was on his way to get a cup of coffee, but smiled and said "sure, what's up?" and hung out with me about music for a few minutes, knowing that the brief chat meant a great deal to me. Besides being a technically proficient, prolific musical genius, he also seemed like a genuinely good and humble person. It goes without saying, but he left a tremendously positive impact on the world. He and his amazing music will be missed by many.
