Chick Corea just loves to play _ I saw him playing a concert hall in Australia.it was a Sunday evening and he and his band started playing at 8:30 pm. They were still going at 1 am when I left and I heard from someone who stayed that they kept playing to quite a small number of people still there until 3 am when they packed it in.

That's what I love in jazz : such an unpretentious music where the greatest have no qualms to share the pleasure of playing with the lesser known… Jazz is a raw and beautiful music

@GuilleArancibia3 жыл бұрын
Slds.

I was in the crowd - went up to him at the end shook his hand - he charred candidly- so did Chic’ both warm and unpretentious. I asked then had they had as much fun playing as I had watching… they both agreed they’d had a ball. Woody thanked me for stopping to say Hi’ , I told him it was my 50’th Birthday and a special trip from the UK. He wished me happy birthday and said he couldn’t remember being 50 but it was probably fun! Gorgeous memories

Woody needs more practice...
@bobdillaber11953 жыл бұрын
You expressed that truth in a very nice way. All the practice in the world can't fix something that wasn't there in the first place. I was never a great dixieland clarinet player when young. I knew that well when I was young. I also know that my playing in those high school days totally eclipsed what I just heard here. I knew for years that he played clarinet but today was the first time I actually heard him play. To give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe this was just an extraordinarily bad night for him. Also, I applaud his doing what he loves to do. We all need to do more of that, regardless of what others may think or say. For me, I'll just listen to other more accomplished players.
