Saw Chick do SPAIN live in 2019 with the Oregon Symphony. LOVE this recording. The viberaphone solo in this performance is simply stunning. There are a lot of versions of Spain on KZbin, each with fresh improvisations based on Corea's awesome foundation. I cannot imagine the rush/high/ecstacy of hearing something he himself created interpreted by so many outstanding musicians. And what about that Bass?

Beautifull experiment!! because is very dificult join the Simphonic style with the Jazz. Not is possible spoke about the ensamble Why? because the sonorous ranges are differentes and have not in dinamic balance, but ..........................the total result have encomium and the best effort. Chick is obviously a great musicians but I think he didn't really score this stunning and brilliant arrangement. It's a very specific work that needs very accurate orchestration's skills. The man conducting the orchestra is, maybe, the author of this arrangement.

Wrong, This recording is part of a concert which has been planned in 1995 or 1996, so it's 1995 or 1996 :). Chick Corea "From jazz to Classical" at Parthenon Tama (1995 / 1996). the infos are written by chick in his Piano concerto Recording for Sony, where he recorded this version of Spain with Origin.It's in the liner's notes.

Qué pinche aburrición, no cabe duda que Corea está negado para la orquestación , es muy frío . De por sí como solista tiene un estilo gélido no se diga como arreglista. El público está que se desvanece de tedio , y ló único que le mueve son las repeticiones del tema . Guácatelas !!!

Bueno quién sabe si fue él, el que hizo la orquestación. En cuanto a lo frío yo lo diría en él sentido de improvisar. En lo personal jamás me ha gustado su estilo. Es un genio, pero no me llega.
