We should give big kudos to the staccato bass here --- exceptional, and incredible drums, including the excellent turkish/arabic drum driving the whole piece. Incredible musicianship by the whole band. Pure pleasure to listen.

Pardo, Benavent and, Dantas all played with Paco De Lucia at one time. Chick Corea is great and, of the best in key board players in quite sometime but, go listen to Art Tatum and, Oscar Peterson.

@@jeantours9641 , I get your point, but according to popular belief, Edison was the inventor of the first devices capable of recording the human voice. However, and as has happened with other historical figures, the true creator of this invention has been "silenced", in all aspects, until recently: Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville, creator of what he called "Fonautograph" (1857). The Edison recording (1877) belongs to the oldest known extant aluminum foil recording, although, as we can see, it is not the oldest recording itself. We hope that, from now on, the name of Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville will be better known and can go down in history as one of the great inventors of all time, honor who deserves it.

He had come around 2009-2010 to San Antonio to perform for us. The flamenca did a top solo that was one of the most incredible things that I had ever seen in my life. I will be honest I had zero respect for The Art of Dance up until that moment. That woman is amazing

Proably one of the Greatest contemporary Jazz piece ever written and it will be performed by musicians all over the world ( as it is now ) for millineums. What better way to perform this piece in no other place than Barcelona Spain along with native musicians and flamenco dancers.

Man , I thank Roger Dawson from the old WRVR Sunday Salsa 💃 show here in NYC . I remember he played Spain and I lost my mind . Damn what’s this . That Monday I went to J&R music world and got the vinyl. Been a fan of Chicks , since the age of 12 . His music is timeless.

Miguel Angel, on bass is my hero, Carles Benavent - from Paco de Lucia's band. When I first heard him, back in 1982, on Chick Corea's "Touchstone" album, within his first 3 notes he COMMANDED my EAR! I ALWAYS Immediately recognize his VOICE on the bass whenever I don't already know that he is on bass on a recording that is new to me - just like whenever I also hear Anthony Jackson on a record!

I watch this regularly...everything about it is Beautiful...a friend from my childhood turned me on to Chic and return to forever band in the early 70s...I listen to all music but chic influenced my playing later on in years most...beautiful man ..thankyou..RIP

Das ist eins der besten Live-Konzerte. die je stattgefunden haben. Die Flamenco Tänzer*innen sprühen vor Leben und Erotik. Das Gleiche trifft für die genialen Musiker zu. Alle sind gleichberechtigt und erhalten Raum um sich auszudrücken. Sie kommunizieren perfekt miteinander, jeder hält dem anderem die Stange. Leben kann nicht schöner sein!

It was the early 70's - and my older brother turned me on to "Light As A Feather". I have been a Chick Corea fan ever since. Fusion jazz, big band jazz, his "My Spanish Heart" album....he was always great no matter what style he chose. Gone too soon.

I had the very very great pleasure and privilege of going to see Chick a few years ago when he visited Chile. I saw him and his band perform this masterpiece. It is a joyous memory I will carry with me untill my last. This was a birthday gift to me from my beloved daughter. So special.

First saw Chick with the Elektric band in 1990 at Humboldt St. University and was astonished. Thankfully, got to see Chick again in 2017 with Bela Fleck in Hollywood, Ca. I feel lucky.

Seen 100 times this video. Master of the masters of contemporary jazz. Corea and all the combo exceed all terrenal expectatives of jazz playing. Incredible song. Incredible rendition. Incredible theater (Palau de la Musica, Barcelona, Spain). Incredible HiFi recording. Incredible sound on a HiFi set. Heard always lights off, directly from KZbin, converted to analogic sound with a 50 USD Behringer basic device, into a Technics '76 SU-2500 integrated amplifier 36 W RMS, and old school speakers JBL TLX 9 GI.
