Our wrestling coach got cancer and was not doing well (he beat it thank god)...without us asking, the franchise owner of the local chick fil a donated meals for our team for our tournaments foe the entire season...healthy stuff too, the good grilled chicken, salads, they even donated sports drinks and bagels, bars, and other healthy items they purchased for us....pretty amazing company

Unlike other chains, you can't just shovel money at Chick-Fil-A to apply to become an owner of a restaurant. They meticulously vet potential owners and turn away anyone who is just looking to invest money and be a hands off owner. The owner of your local Chick-Fil-A has has roots in your community and cares about its people. There are no stockholders that the company is beholden to, they aren't looking to wring out as much profits as they can year after year. They don't oversaturate the same town with more locations than it needs.

Once I went to get Chick-Fil-A, and after I ordered realized I'd forgotten my wallet. I told them when I got to the window, and they just said 'well come back and see us again and we'll call it even' and handed me the food anyway. I went there a lot more after that. I work at CFA. Some of the things talked about, like the friendliness, close and qualified management, and franchise selection really do stand out the more you know. My store operator is very friendly, knows all of his employees by name, and greets everybody with a hug when they come in to work. That alone creates such a friendly atmosphere for his employees to thrive in. Beyond that, he also doesn't spend his time looking over people's shoulders to make sure they're doing it right, because he trusts them. Also, whom he has set as a team lead in a specific department, he himself will work under them. There was one time he kept asking one of his employees to let him work in the kitchen, but because the team lead said to stay up front, the store operator obeyed his own employee! He creates a friendly personal community that respects each other, and builds up his employees' confidence to do their work without worrying about making a mistake. He also encourages his leadership team to read books about leadership and management and councils them in hopes that some of them will one day head off and run their own Chick-fil-A. He is the best boss I've ever worked for. But being picky about who manages their stores also applies to their staff. When I was hired (back in 2017), I went through three different interviews with three different managers. They were clear and upfront that they wanted to hire friendly people, and that they wanted to get to know me before hiring me. Now with employment being harder, they can't be as picky, but friendliness and work ethic are two things they focus on most. Speaking of work ethic, -I think that is the final key to CFA's success. They are fast. The only way you get your food more than 30 minutes after arriving is if the entire city is in line in front of you. When it gets busy, all hands are moving. Oh, and by the way, it was my homosexual friend who referred me to Chick-fil-A. That friend also said that his CFA-family were some of the most supportive people in regards to his sexuality. Yes, many of the workers and staff do hold to traditional marriage, but they certainly don't hate gays.

As an employee at an extremely busy CFA location, I have to disagree with the 3, because Monday is by far our least busy day. If anything, our Saturdays are busier due to people buying food to eat on Sunday, but it could just be that it's buy because it's the weekend.

This! Not to mention that they seem to do their best to make the working environment as tolerable as possible for their staff. In locations where the rush hours seem to be insane, they invest in things like drive-thru carports w/ fans, ice-vests(vests that have pockets for ice blocks), outdoor heaters, and all sorts of things to make their employees' jobs more pleasant. I've even seen locations where the drive-thru have 2 lanes, but a separate building with a special conveyor belt from the main building that transports the food from the kitchen! It seems to me that they give their well-selected franchisees a lot of lee-way as to how to organize and improve their locations as they see fit, and from what I gather, the financial backing to do so, so long as the essentials to the franchise(such as the food), are consistent. In urban areas, I've seldom seen a Chick-Fil-A that doesn't have a good "quirk", so good on them for letting their franchisees innovate in their locations.

I don't know about this. The location closest to me has lines blocking traffic (even before the pandemic) on a major street. About ten years ago, I had a meeting that lasted long and I hadn't had dinner. I was about a 10-20 minute drive from a Chick-Fil-A location, and I couldn't remember if they closed at 10 ot 10:30. So, I called the location and I asked which one. The person who picked up the phone told me that they wrre open until 10, but not to worry about it and just get there when I could. I got there at 10:03, and there were literally people waiting in the parking lot, and they greeted me just as well as if I was there in the middle of the day, accepting my apologies for them staying late with thelr usual enthusiasm, filled the order (even with my request for no pickles on the sandwich), and wished me a nice ride home. They truly went above and beyond on a Friday night to help someone out who was having a late dinner. I will _never_ forget that.

I started going to Chic-fil-a last year. There was one in a mall a few cities over that I went to a few times when I was much younger (15-ish years ago) Then one opened up nearby a number of years ago. I remembered liking chic-fil-a as a kid but since I hadn't had it in so long I just ignored it. I don't have some heartfelt or intense emotional story about my first time eating there again, but they were exceptionally kind to me and even gave me and my grandpa a free ice cream cone because the line was long and it was a VERY hot day. The food is amazing, and the service is incredibly friendly. Once or twice they did mix up my orders a bit but they always make up for it the next time I'm there. Glad to hear they're doing so well! : ) I'd eat there damn near every day if I could afford it lol

The best chicken sandwiches in the world, but for me it's their Christian generosity. Several years ago I lost everything and found myself homeless, chic fil a has a policy of feeding a homeless person who can't pay for free. I walked into a local chic fil a and told them I was homeless and asked if I could get something to eat, they gave me a free sandwich, fries, and water to drink , and they treated me just like a paying customer. I'll never forget their generosity and today I own my own home and land, have a great job making $60,000 a year and still go to chic fil a. I just wish they had one in the town I live, but whenever I go somewhere else I will find a chic fil a

I'm Australian and every time I travel to america I have Chick Fil a, last time I was staying walking distance from one so I went in one day and had the manager she had never heard an australian accent before and made a bit of small talk, eventually I told her Chic Fil a doesnt exist in australia nor is there anything like it and their chicken is just soo good as well as their sauce so she gave me extra sauce for free and said "we'll have to fix that" about a week later before I left I popped in again to get one last taste before heading back, the manager was on the counter again and recognised me she said "you'll be eating this in australia soon enough" with no further context. Now this happened in may 2022. I dont know what she said but I hope within the next few years we get chick fil a in australia.

I first had CFA in 2011 in Texas when I went there to work for a while. The food is awesome (THE PEACH SHAKES ROCK)! The resturaunts are CLEAN. The staff is courtious and friendly, and I like the fact they are closed on Sunday. I have heard CFA tries to have good relationships with their employees and it seems to be true. As an aside CFA seems to have a very close business model to Fareway Grocery Stores based in Boone, Iowa. Fareway started in the 1930's and is in Iowa and the surrounding Upper Midwest states. Fareway has always been closed sunday and most all major hollidays so employees can have time for family and friends. Fareway is known to be CLEAN, economical, and the specialty is the meat market that is famous in Iowa. The employees also seem to stay for years and are known to be real customer orented. Simple business model. They also never build a new store until all the other ones are free and clear. Kinda crazy how the two dissimilar businesses have so much in common.

@@SirFae It's even worse sometimes. One time my family was traveling in the middle of Texas. We stopped at this McDonalds as it seemed to be the only place for several miles. We had to wait in this long line for a good half hour in the drive thru. Once we got our orders, my quarter pounder meal that was ordered plain was not plain and had no fries. Then this terrible conversation occurs My Dad: Hey! This burger was supposed to be plain. Can you please replace it with a plain one? Also we ordered a meal, so we are missing our drink and fries as well. McDonalds Lady: No! You ordered a Quarter Pounder. That's what you got. My Dad: *somewhat angry, but said in a nice tone* We ordered a #2 meal plain. We never mentioned the words Quarter Pounder. McDonalds Lady: No! You ordered a Quarter Pounder My Dad: *Shows receipt that displayed PLAIN Quarter Pounder MEAL* It says it right here. Can you please fix this? We've been here for 30 minutes. McDonalds Lady: No! Got back to the end of the line and order again My Mom: WHAT? THAT'S RIDICULOUS! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WALK OVER AND ASK TO MAKE ME A PLAIN BURGER AND GRAB SOME FRIES! AND YOU EXPECT US TO WAIT ANOTHER HALF-HOUR TO FIX THE PROBLEM! McDonalds Lady: Well maybe order correctly next time. My mom: DID YOU NOT SEE THE RECEIPT?! IT'S CLEARLY LABELLED PLAIN QUARTER POUNDER MEAL. McDonalds Lady: Next! Then we drove to a nearby gas station and my mom bought some chex mix to make up for the incident. She was sorry for yelling. Coming from a current chick Fil a employee, the positive attitudes of the employees comes from two main things; (1) at my location I make $13/hr which is amazing for a fast food restaurant, and (2) the managers and even the owner of my store treats the employees with genuine respect. I have never gotten yelled at nor shamed by anyone there other than a few angry customers. Everyone is kind, and we do our best to help each other out, which crafts a supportive work environment. The customers then feel the positivity and even forms friendly relations with some of the employees. This positivity has a great impact on the entire experience of getting food from there.

@Sebastian Posey....Others have mentioned there are fast food restaurants that pay $15/hr. The difference in pay is likely a local thing where some cities/states have minimum hourly pay laws. At $13/hr, it sounds like your area doesn't have such a law. The flip side that works in your favor is that you likely live in an area with a lower cost of living (i.e. each dollar goes farther than someone who lives in say Los Angeles, Honolulu, New York, etc)

Training is awesome. People are super understanding. If a guest is harassing you, you just grab a manager and everyone makes sure you are okay. They are lenient, but make sure you know your training and don’t beat you up for mistakes unless repeated all the time, and even then they are nice about it. Also- I’m queer and work at chick fil a. Over 10 of my coworkers are also openly queer, one of them extremely obviously and stereotypically so, and no one cares and in fact it’s supportive. It’s a great environment. Something to add about the selection of operators/managers is the length and rigorous process they go through to find the right candidate. Yes, you only need 10k to open a store, however, you will go through multiple interviews. Your friends and family will be interviewed. They will do a background check on you, your financials, social media and do a psychological test. You will have to work as an employee to learn every aspect of operations. And thats not a guarantee, you may go through this process multiple times until you are selected. If you are selected, you will have to go a location of their choosing, which could be anywhere in the US. Once you are selected, you will be involved in operations that you dont see other managers from other restaurants do, such as cleaning the lobby, parking lot etc. Employee selection is just as selective. Combined hours of multiple interviews can tske up to 3 hours.

I went to Chick-fil-A for the first time recently. It was on a holiday, and when I got there, there was at least 50 cars in their two drive through lanes. To my absolute surprise I had placed my order and received my food in about 5 minutes!! I cannot get that kind of service at any other fast food location, even on a slow day. They had two people with tablets walking to every car in line and taking their order. They were also the most friendly and caring people at a fast food joint I've ever met. When I got to the window to pick up the food, my fiancé realized we forgot in item. I simply told them, and literally45 seconds later I had the extra item. Not only that, but to keep things moving for everyone else, they didn't want me to pay for it. I was completely blindsided by that kind of customer service. Things like this is why they are such a successful business.
