My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We see over 2,000 pieces of small engine equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. We specialize in brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Echo and Shindaiwa, but work everyday on MANY other brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Craftsman, Remington, Red Max, Troy Bilt, Scag, Bad Boy, Hustler, World Lawn, Poulan, Mantis, Etc.. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!

Well listen anyone can do. Question is how long and if we will see change in the products. A company like this have products in the pipeline years in advance. Anything they hear today might make it into new products in two year, perhaps one year at the soonest. Changes to logistics can happen sooner, but it could also take years. I won't celebrate before we see improvements, and that's coming from someone with a serious Husqvarna fetish! 😁

@@blahorgaslisk7763 Agree with what your saying. Just me saying that a lot of companies can’t be bothered listening in any way to what the consumer might have to offer. Not saying that the product or service will improve.

Worked in industrial plants for 40 years for contractor. Often we would show up to install a custom engineered piece or system and the guys working on the line with yrs of experience would have no clue this was happening or why. Several occasions they would point out why it could not be installed in moments of seeing it. 0 interaction with the people and product that would be effected . The engineers that got dirty and valued input from workers and customers with 0 arrogance had my respect. They were generally more successful on projects and well liked.

Battery tools and equipment have been around a lot longer time than the government has been pushing them. When cordless drill/drivers first came out they were a joke. They aren't a joke anymore. I had 3 trees that needed some branches trimmed. I grabbed a mini chainsaw that I bought for less than $50.00. I cut over 50 branches that ranged in size from 1" to 3" before it ran out of charge (it had been sitting in the shop for over a month since I last used it and hadn't been recharged). It was a lot easier to use than firing up my gas chainsaw to do the job. I would have still been mixing fuel for my gas saw when I was half done with the battery saw.

I'm convinced that I did the right thing in getting rid of my two cycles and buying electric. I recommend going electric for the typical homeowner who only uses his equipment occasionally. After sitting a year, my electric chainsaw starts every time. Don't mean to put you out of business, but electrics have their small time applications.

My sons in their 30s still come home and run the older Husky 372XP with the decompression start feature! It has never had anything but the best 2 cycle mix and premium fuel all of its life. I’ve worn out 8 or 9 20 inch bars and over 100 chains, some of which are filed many times. I save the ones that have very short cutters for grubbing the stumps in dirt!!!

Glad you brought up electric tools. One day, just not today, they might get the battery thing figured out. When a battery can be recharged as fast as a gasoline powered tool can be refilled, has 0 cold weather degradation or 0 age related degradation and will run as long as it’s gas powered equivalent on a single charge then talk to me. For every spare battery required to get a day’s work done defeats the purpose of going electric since each battery contributes to carbon footprint.

With a certain consumer retailer making a commitment to have 85% of lawn equipment sales be battery powered by 2028, it's only a matter of time. Consumer demand is moving that way too. I'm not a pro, but as a small property owner, who uses his gear intermittently, I've wasted more time trying to get a friggin motor started than the time I've saved (not to mention cost) of charging a battery. (I've got 2 chainsaws in my garage - guess which one starts every time with little maintenance other than bar oil and chain sharpening. The other one didn't start when I needed it, so there it sits...to this day.) That being said, for my battery powered tools, I stick with companies that do ONLY battery. I feel it is in their interest to have good quality batteries. The others are playing catch up, cut corners, and may very well be more prone to problems, including fires.

When I was tasked with solving a problem on Freightliner trucks when I worked as a mechanic at a dealer, they did not like what I found and reported. Engineering and assembly had plumbed the air governor into the wet air tank. Moisture would build up and freeze, blocking the pressure sensing. The plastic line wuld overpressure and blow. Of course calling an engineering mistake out generally pisses in the wrong guys corn flakes. Replumbed it to the dry tank and that truck had no more problems. I got pushed out the door, but the problem stopped shortly after that. I imagine the engineer went back to the factory and told them HE figured out the problem.

Great presentation. I'm especially impressed that you're going to be "keeping an eye on them". Corporate types are well skilled at making you think what they want you to think. Lying is second nature to them and their first nature is manipulation. You should be extremely proud of yourself for not falling for their political promises. The post-covid era has been an awakening of the general public in a great many ways. We all got to sit back and see the world a lot better for a time and have been awakened to the problems that have been on the rise. Corruption in our schools, media, entertainment industry, politics, border security, healthcare and the criminalization of the Justice Dept. as well as corporate incompetence in general. It's probably going to take a decade to straighten out our country and the economy but with people like you sharing your knowledge with the rest of us who are self-reliant, we might just get it done sooner as long as we all just pay attention to our changing world. Battery powered chainsaws definitely have their place . . . For infrequent use. Examples include the towing and recovery industry, or people like me who travel forest service roads a couple times a year and may encounter a tree down across the road. It may also be a good choice for a homeowner whose only use for a chainsaw is storm cleanup, provided the batteries can be used in other tools they own.

Looks like fun. When my friends and school mates were flipping burgers, I was working on small engines. Go-carts, mini-bikes, mowers of all kinds. Remember Clinton engines? These days, I'm just taking care of mine. I got tired of having to work on something any time I wanted to do yard work, so the gas mower has been replaced by electric. Thanks to you, my Husqvarna string trimmer works like a champ again, but I'm looking to possibly replace it with something electric in the spring. I'll hang on to it for the heavier tasks around the yard, but I think electric should easily handle the week to week stuff. I own two gas chainsaws because one wasn't working when I needed it. Both run great now, but between two saws and a trimmer, a gallon of gas will last me forever, so those will all be replaced by electric. The one area that I don't see me going electric is riders. At this point, they're just too cost prohibitive and the same goes for the replacement batteries.

I am so glad they invited you to be a part of their piece of that show, I had given up on their brand due to their parts issue and it is great to know that it seems like it is a software (sort of ) issue and I understand what they are going through. Been there , done that. Anyhow thanks for the info.
