The tray from a large dog crate would be about the same size. Nice idea, I may borrow some of your design to build one for our next batch of chicks.

Awesome. Drill some pilot holes so you don’t get teased like I do 🤣

“I math for chickens”. I also can hardly believe how neat and tidy the build was… in your living room, no less! Unless…there were frequent cleanups or just good editing.

My husband cut and sanded everything in the garage, and we swept up the little sawdust that the drill made. 😄

How long can you keep them here? Aside from keeping them inside the house (i am assuming you move the brooder outside, correct me if I am wrong).

It's been a month now, how is it going? Do you still love it? Would you change anything? Any new advice? 😁🥰 LOL Will math for chickens 🤣 I also do math for goats!

Great question!! I still love it, BUT I did add a hot lamp to it because I couldn’t get it quite up to 95. Now that the first week of needing temperatures that high is passed we’re back to the brooder plate

@@cabincreekhomestead761 Did you add the lamp rested on the lid or did you suspend it inside? I love the idea of not needing Pine Shaving. Did you use it at all? Or does the plastic grip allow you to avoid it? I'm assuming if temperature was an issue, it was because of a draft, from no shaving. I want a brooder for my next go around for Breese Chickens and Cornish cross.
