Press the up button for three seconds (flashes green) means the door will open on sunrise by sensor (press and hold again for another 3 seconds, flashes red, means it will set the current clock timing at the moment you pressed. If you want the door to be open at 5 am before sunrise you gotta press the up button for 3 seconds until flashes red at exactly 5 am to program it, kind of stupid

Just follow the instructions it should automatically open and close when sun comes up and down

Mine stops halfway…rooster shoved himself out of it and now it won’t go all the way up with me pushing it. Have you had any experience like this?

The whole reason I watched was to see how to program it for light mode and not manual mode and you didn’t do it. Do you have one where you show how to do that by any chance?

Your instructions are different than mine. I can’t see your instructions from video- but mine don’t make any sense. So, I think that’s why I looked for video to set timer. Otherwise - good video.

I’ve had this store for about six months now and it’s been working fine until the fall/winter. It now closes on gray cloudy days and leaves my girls outside. I would like to know if anyone on this channel knows how to set the clock timer instead of the sensor. Thank you.

I've had mine over a year, but the opening function doesn't always work. I have a second one in the same coop just in case the first doesn't open, it does always close though. I have a Run Chicken in our main coop, and in 2 years, we've had only one issue when the battery went low.

Someone responded but i cant find it. The reason I asked was because others also ask so if someone knows how to set the time that would be helpful for others. I am returning mine because i want to be able to have more control over opening and closing. From all i have read they are preset. Other than that its probably just fine.

Chickens go to bed when is dark anyways so it should not matter if you can’t set a time! If you don’t like this one find another one! We have reviewed many and they are all good and all have different ways to use them! So please don’t say an item is bad if you don’t do your research and know what you getting before your getting it!

If there 8s too much shade, the door doesn't open. If people have lost their instructions, like most of us, we don't know how to set the timer

Would you kindly post a picture of your instructions? I have had my door installed for several months and have misplaced the set up instructions. My door no longer opens and closes on it's own. I believe someone, maybe me, pressed the buttons too many times or something, because the door is no longer working as it should and I need to re-program it. Thank you

The version I received is under the brand name of HotRose” and has that wording on the top panel with a chicken image. The instructions are almost identical except for some artwork differences. The door was easy to install, works, except no instructions on programming the remote which had just to buttons, on and off! Frustrating that the instructions on the back of the solar panel and the buttons seem to operate the door and the remote really disappointing.

Sorry you had issues every chicken door is going to be different! There are a lot of sellers who sell them! I would contact the seller for help

And the door isn't reliable, so no one should buy it. I bought it and it broke a month after installing it, almost costing my girls their lives. I just happened to go out one night, saw a raccoon in the run area (my fault for not closing up the fence completely at that point) and the raccoon left. I was then STUNNED to see that the door was stuck in the open position. If I didn't go out, my girls would have been killed. I fixed the fence the very next day.

I thought this door would be better than the normal up an ddown door, u just saved me from wasting another $70, i had bought one that was abour $100 and i really had high hopes for it but it had stopped working the following day, i guess there is no good chicken coop door🫠

I followed the instructions perfectly but the door does not open at dawn. The light sensor doesn't seem to be operating.

Multiple sellers sell this same unit, but I can tell you have a more detailed instruction sheet. My first one worked fine the first season, then stopped working. Second unit never really worked, so I returned it. I got a third, and the instructions are horrible. As you can tell from your comments, some of us don't have the same instruction sheet you do.

I just got mine a few days ago and will be installing it tomorrow. ============================================================================ Edit: DO NOT GET THIS! They almost got my chickens killed! I've built my own coop and installed this, maybe around September. So one night, I don't know what got into me, but I decided to go out and just look around the coop area. To my surprise, I saw a raccoon. I had suspected a raccoon was getting into the run and I knew there were a few areas I needed to close up still. The raccoon saw me and casually walked away. He wasn't even scared. TO MY HORROR, I noticed that the coop door was open. Meaning, if I didn't go outside (I still don't know what made me go out), my girls would have been dead. Well how's that possible? I had it set to close when the light is dark. I quickly decided that I can't just rely on this door to keep my chickens safe and the very next day, I closed up everything so the raccoon could no longer get in the run. After that day, I noticed the door was working fine again and things were fine for maybe another 2 weeks. Then one morning, I looked out the window and noticed my girls weren't out in the run. Confused as to why not, I went and noticed the run door was closed. Uggggghhhhh!!!!! It only has gotten worse from there. One night, I noticed my girls "roosting" on the window, but still in the run. The door had closed early and they couldn't get back in. Now, it just stays open all the time. I read the 1 star reviews and they were all pretty much like mine. Needless to say, I'll need to get another door. I should have got the chicken run door, but tried to save a few bucks and here I am.

I ordered the Run Chicken for our main coop and it's been great the last 2 years. This door in my second coop, not so much. Customer Service is non existent.

Well heather I didnt say the item was bad, i gave my honest opinion of the product which i have the right to do. You made the comment why ask, if i was returning it. And I am purchasing one that works better for me. I already have 2 others i use, I dont let my chickens out first thing in the morning or i dont get eggs, they free range and because the door is shaded it closes to early and my chickens often get locked out. Maybe you shouldnt post or comment if you cant handle the feed back.

so how do you set the time there is know where to see what the current time is or how to set a open close, comments below are not helpful. It says how to switch between but not how to set time. That video was not helpful. He was only using dusk to dawn. I am returning mine. I have another and you can set time and the ambiant time to open its only 10 more.

Why ask how to set something if you say your going to return it? Item comes with instructions we don’t have to show every detail in the vidoes of item or the video would be too long!

For the love of whatever, some of the above comments that say they are returning it do to not understanding the settings... Well Daaaaaaaaaaaa, they should go back to school if they cannot read directions and the best thing with this chicken door is the remote!! open and close the door with a remote. It's the 5 star rating and the remote that impressed me so much. Thanks for your great review.
