I am a Registered Nurse at a MAJOR trauma center.....I soooooooo wish I could live this life. I want to be off the grid. My grandmother lived like this....she lived to be 107 yrs old and had her right mind and ability to care for herself. One day she was finished and didnt wake up. This place seems so peaceful like her place .

Great idea with the bright colors for your chicken coop. It makes everything so bright and cheerful which in turns makes your mood more cheery too. I know dull colors and working in coops the garden even can make it seem off. Amazing what a little bit of bright colors can do to change your mood. :) Great job Doug on all the little details.

Like the remodel it looks great. I wouldn't put a roost over open nesting boxes the birds will poop all over them.

I second that roost over the nestbox. Not a good idea if you want to avoid washing eggs.

I was thinking the same thing! Chickens poop a ton at night, and you don't want going on over the nest boxes.

Love the changes to the coop. Love the colourful aspect and the sun painting! Only question is about the two corner roosting boards, one over the other... Could you counter angle them so if there are birds on the top rail, they will not poop on the ones directly below?

Stacy I make a coop spray that helps alot with flies. I take my basil stalks and bad leaves. And I get cheap cinnamon sticks and put it all in vinegar for a few weeks. Then I put in a spray bottle and leave in coop and spray each morning. My hens truely seem to like it to. Seems to make egg laying less stressful

Love the inside of coup. Last summer i changed mine around some, used a smaller hedge post for a roost. My best friend & i also painted an old toilet seat & out over their door for them to come in & out of. When closed, the top side was also painted. We Plan to paint more on inside this summer. Absolutely LOVE your sun so plan do so something similar. Just adorable, thank you so much for sharing

I love your way of life. I grew up on a farm and miss seeing the stars at night and privacy. We are making it work in town. It's all about living simple. My back yard is such a get Wy with the vegetable gardens, native flowers. Our house and gardens are on a 0.19 acre parcel. We are working on our orchard, apples and native paw paw trees. Our house is paid for and I guess we have it good. We are looking into solar since the technology seems better and not as expensive. Love your channel.

Chicken coop remodeling looks great! The only concern i have is that roost pole right above the nest crates. Aren’t the chickens going to poop down to the nests all night? That would make a mess in them. My thought
