Chicken curry 🍛

Ingredients
- 1kg chicken thigh fillets sliced
- 2 large tbsp yoghurt
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 2 tsp salt
- Thumb-size piece ginger, grated
- 5 cloves garlic, grated
- 400g green beans, cut into thirds
- 1 large red onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5 green cardamom pods
- 2 dried chillies
- rice to serve
- coriander to garnish
Method
1. Marinate the chicken in yoghurt, curry powder, garam masala, 1 teaspoon salt, ginger and garlic for at least 30 minutes.
2. Heat the peanut oil in a pan and add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, and dried chillies, cook this on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the sliced onion and cook until they start to colour, then remove from the pan and set aside.
4. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned. Then add the green beans, cooked onions and 1/4 cup water, stir well and cook on medium-low heat for 20 minutes.
5. Serve with rice and garnish with coriander.

It's genetic. Depending on the country, for about 10 % of people cilantro tastes like soap.They share a smell receptor gene called OR6A2. For all the other people, cilantro tastes like a fresh herb.

I bought some fresh cilantro last week and for the first time in years it smelled like the cilantro that my Pakistani neighbors grew in their garden. Maybe it was because it was a bit more mature and sold with the root intact. It was delicious in my curry.

"Ruby Murray" is British slang for 'Curry'. Obviously because the British colonised Australia and had a large influence on New Zealand, the people of those 2 countries adopted British culture, language and even slang. Thats why the Aussies, Kiwi's and the British are incredibly similar people in very many aspects. It's also why the Kiwi's and the Aussies say "Mate" alot. They get that from the British.

That's not a proper chicken curry. * Add spices in the oil - cinamon, cardomon & cloves * add 100 gms of chopped onions and let it come to golden brown color. * add 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste and stir until it smells good for 40-60seconds. * add 50gms of tomatoes and stir until the tomatoes gets mashed. * add 1kg of raw sliced chicken. * add a teaspoon of chilli powder, teaspoon of chicken masala, a pinch of turmeric powder & salt as per need. * add 0.5 ltrs of water and a boil comes. *cover the pan and Cook in low flame for 15-20min. * after done, add chopped coriander leaves 2 tablespoon. It's done. And you'll feel the heavenly taste of this chicken curry with cooked rice, chappati, parotta, idli & dosa.
