I'd say it was, but with smart phones a lot has changed over the past 15 years. But yeah it was definitely like this probably up until 2006 . All you ever knew were the people in your small town, what you saw on TV, or friends you made in other small towns in your area, through sports/extracurricular activities at school. I have to agree, I love this movie, but Dale's part about the Shoshone arrowheads is by far the funniest part. I've watched it over, and over, and It's plain, but I end up laughing harder every time. It's extremely comedic bc it breaks the ice, or yolk. I appreciate his parts in the movie, and hope You and Your fam are ok. Sorry to hear about his passing. He reminds me of some of the farmer guys I met in Arkansas growing up
