Napoleon Dynamite FFA scene - What is in the third milk jar

Scene from the 88 minute test screening of Napoleon Dynamite, dated 10/16/2003. I found a random burned DVD of this in the basement physics lab while I was an undergraduate, and have treasured it ever since. There are a number of differences from the officially released film, which I have aspirations of one day cataloging. For now, here is the FFA scene with Napoleon and Pedro. The most notable difference is we learn what is in the third mason jar of milk.

It was for the “farm visual” they wanted to use canning jars, and tiny canning jars, like used for small batch preserves or home made baby food, wouldn’t provide the visual they wanted… it was all stagecraft….

@@brbimatthemoon3873 yes in competition, that flavor is called “garlic onion” there tons of defect flavors that can appear in milk, such as a malty flavor and a salty flavor, these are just two examples.

I actually did this in FFA although in Texas, it's a competition called milk quality and some of the event is identifying defects. Yes there is onion, bleach, garlic, rancid, salt, lots of nasty stuff like that, but the defects are mostly identifying the flavor, and afterwards scoring how concentrated and noticeable the defect was. You are supposed to get a small cup, poor some milk into it, taste it, spit it out, rinse your mouth with apple juice so you can have a clean palate for the next milk, and write down what you found to be the flavor defect and cause.

No see onions very poisonous to cows because onions have enzymes that mess up the cows inside onion milk is the result of a sick cow which is bad. Now if your cow eats strawberries then there’s no problem because strawberries don’t have that corrosive enzyme that onions and onion grass do

Our laughter woke my mom up from her sleep and she stormed down stairs mad as can be..... After she vented she watches the movie with us and realized why we were in tears laughing so hard.

I’ve actually done this competition for FFA! Our contest usually consists of the determining what “defects” the milk has (this scene), cheese identification, real vs artificial dairy product identification, and a 70 question written test about the dairy industry
