I'm just seeing this in October 2024 from Costa Rica and I'm 🤤 (drooling). Unfortunately before I moved here, I didn't know it would be so difficult to find foods from other countries 😢. So thank you so much for your wonderful recipes 💕.

for a bit of additional flavour and to make the tortillas a bit more pliable so they don't crack or split, throw them over the open gas flame or a very hot pan for a few seconds on either side to loosen and wake them up, and add a bit of char (not solid black, but little dots of black). The amount of flavour that is created by this simple step, does not disappoint!!

I spent the last 20 years trying to get friends ETC,. to pronounce Gyros correctly in the U.S., and you just reset all Americans back to saying JAI-ROSE......instead of *YEE-ROS... (NO G) oh Well. Jk lol. Great video AKIS!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! 😂 I thought the same thing 🤦🏻♂️

I pronounce it "yee-ros". I did pronounce it "jye-rose" for a time, until I learned that that wasn't the proper pronunciation.
@BlinkyB23 Жыл бұрын
HAHAHA I was thinking this...I am not Greek but I was like "NO...Not jyros!" I had to Google it and make sure it's yee-ros. 😂😂
@andrejohnson67319 ай бұрын
Honestly, if Greeks wanted Americans to pronounce it Yeeros, why spell it with a "G" when? 😂

Akis, you have spent WAY too much time with Jamie Oliver when you mispronounce your own dish and think bagels and tortillas can be freely substituted for pita

If anyone wonders how much salt you should put in, just aim at 4-5%. So 1 liter of water equals to 40-50gr of salt. Don't go over 5%, just my experience

I saw your other recept for fried pork souvlaki and you use a "creamy" tzatziki sauce inside. Is creamy tzatziki the same as tzatziki or not? I cant find any recept for creamy tzatziki 🙈 Does this mustard sauce goes to fried pork as well??
