Foodie friends invite us to a cook-out and prepare Maqluba (in Arabic: مقلوبة) in a camp oven over an open fire. There are lots of ways to make this popular 'upside-down' Middle Eastern dish, and you'll have no trouble finding a recipe. The key ingredients are meat, rice, and sauteed vegetables, seasoned with Baharat (mixed spices). It also helps to have great friends and good appetites, to enjoy the feast!
About us: We're the parents of three sons and live at Danthonia Bruderhof, a Christian community in northern New South Wales, Australia, and enjoy discussing our faith, family, food (Norann's an awesome cook!), and the day-to-day adventures of life in "the bush".
