@Cuz-Mama-Sez-So9 ай бұрын
You two are so cute. I saw the "The Hen House Coop", Very cute. You make me laugh & that's a wonderful gift to have. I've been watching Nug aka Jeremy for quite a while now It was before he found the 2 dead persons under the bridge. He was Pretty much only doing Magnet Fishing. I knew who you were Jeremy would talk about you when they'd do lives & you were the moderator. If I'm remembering correctly you were in a couple of his videos at home. I can't wait to see your finished projects as you all are doing them, when they're done & then when it's all said & done no matter how long it takes. Make sure you've got watering containers in the run. Take & dip the birds beak in the water this helps them remember where the water & food can be found. A nice treat for the birds fresh grass pulled off & thrown in your run, they'll eat it. Best advise other than that is there are several KZbin channels that have lots of good information & you can even message or email them with questions. Gary & Cassie Walker have two YT Channels "Catching up with the Walkers" the other is "Walker Farm Family" Cassies nick name is the Crazy Chicken Lady. Gary is now a stay at home Dad/Farmer. They have 3 children , Ranger, Mazzi, & Ranson. They adopted Mazzi & Ranson plus are Foster Family for children from their Tribe. Cassie & Gary have a lot of experience with their farm. They've got her chickens, geese, a few ducks, Highland cows, a few Gurnsy or herfords cows (I think that's what they are.) alpacas, turkeys, still have a few goats, plus Cassie's sheep, & 3 LGD (Livestock Guard Dogs.) They're bred to be the protector of the Farm Animals & people. Of course 2 cats. Another Channel is 'Phil and Alex" They bought land in Tennessee & are raising 2 adopted girls & their youngest is their invetro baby girl. They moved from California & after living in a travel trailer looking for a area where they found an area they wanted to live & raise their family. They bought a house with land in Tennessee & are rising most of their food, she'll by unprocessed grains & makes her own flour, & animals to feed the family. Alex even milks their cow & makes butter, yogurt, heavy cream, different kinds of cheeses from cow's milk, ice cream, sour cream. She's become an off grid farm wife & family. She's got chickens which are in a tractor coop & fence which is moved & of course a few sows & boar. They just recently sold two litters of piglets. Which adds a lot to the household income. Both have Facebook pages & Phil & Alex have an Instagram channel. I just thought I give this information in case you had any questions. You can buy a 5 gallon bucket with a lid & drill holes in the lower part & order the watering cups like a little dish you screw or snap in place. Gary Walker found them on Amazon & made Cassie some large chicken water buckets last summer. When those summer temps hit they need drink a lot of water. This way you don't need to refill a the smaller watering containers several times a day. Also you can add some cider vinegar to the water for the chickens. Its a natural antibiotic & help keep you birds healthier. Keep up the hard work your doing wonderful. If you get any of those horrible people that say mean,viscous, hateful things best thing to do is block them. There are a bunch of those self intitled jerks & I'm sure you 2 have had to deal with jerks like that on Jermery's Channel & the Search & rescue Channel Adam & him have. I have so much respect for the two of you. Keep up the great work & remember to be kind to yourselves when dealing with things. We all make mistakes & learn from them. Never be afraid to ask for input from your viewers. There are a tremendous amount of good kind people out there that sre more than willing to do what they can for you. I'm sorry I wrote a Book I would have sent you an email but you don't have one listed & just a hint you might want to add the "Not for Profit" information on your page too. Just a short explanation of it about what it is & the contact information about it. Remember to Keep telling viewers to: Please subscribe click on the bell to mark all, hit the thumbs up button 👍, & Please Share with your friends & family. I can't wait to see what's next. Keep ip the hard work it's going to be so worth it when you finish it. Renee R-G.❤

I enjoy what you do with the cabin! I am enjoying your Wonder Woman activities. You are very inspiring and I learn something new all the time. You shouldn't let the negative comments bother you. They are rewarded by your reacting. Like little boys making the girls cry. Don't give them any fuel, Girl!!😂 One concern I have about your coop is tie-downs. Here in Indiana we have enough high winds to send your coop a-flyin' !! You might consider some tie-down straps to keep that anchored. Mrs Cog Hill Farms re-furbished her chicken and pigeons coops in the last year or so, and she decorated the walls with flowered table cloths!! Hey, we "Girls just wanna have fun!!" I enjoy you, keep up the good work!! ❤❤❤

We are in a valley, so wind isn’t an issue, but the coop has been anchored so the bears can push on it.

🇦🇺 Can I make a suggestion or two. 1/ Most smaller predators can get through chicken wire . Around the base of the chicken run put hardware cloth as it has a much finer mesh and able to keep out rats and other smaller predators. 2/ Place the chicken wire down under the ground, around the perimeter of the chicken run in case a predator tries to dig its way in.

Get stainless steel ties, their made of cars but work great on fences. And are not destroyed but the sun. Used them for my dogs fence.
@GoingsoloinFrance9 ай бұрын
Great job, Be sure to keep an eye on those white plastic cable ties as the sun's UV rays will break them down and they will start to crumble. It might be an idea to replace them with twisted wire. You don't want a little bird eating that plastic. Should be fine for a year or two though :-)

Good job Candice! I have the same structure, but mine is a tent. I always build the roof first, and put the tarp on while the roof structure is on the ground. It's much easier to get the tarp on that way. Then i put the side legs in on one side. Then the legs on the other side. It works great.

Very nice! I love the size of the run. Where did you get it? I'd love to get a few chickens, but stray cats & dogs are a problem here as are rats & hawks. Without a big safe run, it would be pointless to get them. I have a couple suggestions for you. You might need a ventilation fan in the coop for summer heat. The other is you might want to get a heavier fence wire like the 2"x4" horse fence or at least field fence around the outside. That chicken wire will be nothing to a bear should they come back, but even a stray dog can rip a hole in it. Ask me how I know. Just a couple thoughts.
@savingthecabin9 ай бұрын
Putting in, maybe today, a solar powered fan to help with the heat, and soon I will put up the electric chicken fence, around the entire area.
