@@thedinnerlady9180 I miss living at home and having everything homecooked by my mum. Your dishes take me back to those days. I'm going to give the panackelty a go. I'd never heard of it, but it looks amazing. I'm from North Yorkshire, so it's slightly more northern than me, so I've definitely got to try it. Do I have to remove the fat from the bacon before cooking?

I love custard. My Grandmother and my Mother made it every year for Christmas and New Year’s. I think I’ve only made it once. My husband and kids weren’t that impressed with it, they would rather have the store bought 😂😂😂😂 our custard is a drink sorta like egg nog but thicker. Separate the eggs and whip the egg whites and fold it into the egg mixture that had been boiled. My favorite meal was chicken and dumplings. My Mom made for me on every birthday. She fixed it other times too, but especially for our birthday (I was born on her birthday 😂😂) she made the dumplings like fluffy noodles. Yum

I love your video because we can learn out to do stuff we've never done, but again there is some of the video missing. The bit where you should show is what you do after you have mixed the dumpling mixture up and put them in with the stew. For someone who is learning out to cook, they need all the video of each step. Isn't that what your video are for, for people to learn how to cook stuff? Have you got the recipes written down on KZbin or is there only videos? x

Oh this looks so good as usual. I love how you used chicken thigh fillet on the bone. They are far more tasty and moist than the breast fillets, which I hardly ever use. Luckily I have some thing very similar for dinner tonight otherwise Id be hankering for what you cooked. Creamy chicken curry with rice, it's always delicious. My grandmother used to make her rolly polly with quinces when they were available. She always made egg custard to go with it too. It brings back very found memories for me, just seeing your hubby eat it. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope you are feeling allot better today. All the best from Australia.

I have never in all my years in America made chicken stew,I don’t remember my Mom making it either,it was always rabbit stew, which I don’t think people eat anymore.I always seem to either roast chicken breasts,or pan fry in bread crumbs, sometimes poach, then use in enchiladas,or chicken salad,or a tortilla soup,,or chicken/corn chowder, that sort of thing. Chef John on KZbin today did Korean chicken, looked delicious, take a look.

I've had chicken stew and dumplings at least once a week over winter. I have through necessity used proper manky cheap margarine instead of suet. As a guideline I use two thirds flour, one third fat. However make it fifty fifty flour to fat, i.e. half self raising, quarter fat (in this case co-op margarine) and a quarter parmesan plus a significant amount of fresh thyme. The chicken bones, veg peelings and skins all go into the stock box in the freezer.
