Thanks for sharing, I always fry the dried prawns and then add in the glutenous rice in and fry well. So when we eat the Zongzi / bak chang , the rice has sweet and aroma of the dried prawns too ! I only add in one type of beans, will add in black eye beans too next time , Thanks

Do you mean the cooking time for the wrapped dumplings? If using pressure cooker, about 1 hour. If normal pot, about 2 to 3 hours depending on dumpling size.

What is alkaline water? Can I just use normal tap water in all your recipes that use alkaline water? Such as your moon cake recipes?
@Huangkitchen8 жыл бұрын
+Peng I'm afraid you cant replace alkaline water with tap water. Alkaline water helps to neutralize the acid in golden syrup in the process of making the mooncake skin. It also helps mooncake skin to have a dark golden colour and gives the skin a soft and fluffy texture too. Hope this helps.
@peng36688 жыл бұрын
+Huang Kitchen thank you for the reply. I will have to go look for alkaline water!
@adrianthomas74278 жыл бұрын
Peng hello... alkaline water is basically made from ash water....... burn wood coal till ash, soak ash in water.... leave water so to settle down ash in water..... finally ash is settled water above is alkaline water, if you're in Malaysia you can buy it off the shelf
