Challenge idea. Try alien isolation using only the first tool you get in the game which is the maintenance jack. Don't think I've seen anyone else do this so I feel this'll be good. Only acception would be tools that are used only for opening doors and solving puzzles, like the plasma torch for example. Otherwise you'd have to do Speedrun strategies which would ruin the fun out of the challenge. But no flamethrower, no guns, no motion tracker. None of that

Mapped out the game and memorized certain rooms so I can maximize battery efficiency. So while I would run around in the dark for some areas. I still would occasionally flash night vision in chases, or just in general to know where I'm at. @@jaxongarrison3896 Can you beat real life asylum without night vision?
@claratalbot76134 ай бұрын
Short answer: Yes Long answer: It is very possible to go through the games without the night vision it just requires a lot of practice so you know where you're going. By turing the gamma up as much as possible it helps lights under door frames & such as even a pitch black room will not brighten up the way you think it might in other games & will still be extremely dark. Increasing the gamma also helps keep you oriented in the dark because you can face the light before entering a dark corridor & simply walk backwards waiting for the audio &/or visual ques. Now for rooms you want to stay out of the middle & keep to the sides while looking for the light source/sources to know where to go while keeping an eye or ear out for ques. For example Miles & Park will increase their breathing when they're in a dangerous situation. The music also shifts which helps you to know if you're safe, if you've been spotted & it's time to run, or if it's a chase sequence. Also keep in mind chase sequence a either narrow spaces or hallways, the enemy/enemies have spotted you during a cutscene, &/or you've dropped into or walked into an area with an enemy or enemies that either immediately spot you or have a high chance to potentially spot you leading to a chase. Rule of thumb is if there is an enemy or enemies near you it will be either a chase or a sneak past while trying to avoid a chase

@@dnidaz2553 That'd be fear doing that to you. I used to speedrun the game on Insane for fun. It can be reliably beaten in under two hours with minimal hiding. In fact, there's a lot of parts where the game's AI is expecting you to hide in certain locations (the natural response) and it actually makes getting through those parts easier and faster if you know where to stand and just book it right away instead of waiting.

This challenge is quite doable for Outlast, Whistleblower and Outlast 2 because you have a sort of aura with ambient light, which is VERY generous on Outlast and Whistleblower, but still useful in Outlast 2. Outlast Trials has almost NO ambient lighting and it has the deepest darks out of all the games. It's definitely a challenge to go without night vision in Trials. Much more challenging than the previous games.

Tips for Outlat Trials: 1. The darkness is your friend in this. Enemies are basically blind to you unless you get in their face or are generally being loud 2. Try to find the secret rooms. They have trial upgrades that make Program X levels trivial 3. Going into phycosys is good. Enemies will ignore you when your phycosis is empty, but keep an antidote handy
