Piano scene from the Marx Bros. movie "Animal Crackers". Chico does a variation on what I believe is "Silver Threads Among the Gold"

I love the way he shoots the keys. Both he and Harpo played their instruments in their own wonderful way. No one can top their playing. Or them for that matter.

Chico Marx built off his solid training as a youngster to develop a style all his own. Notice that while he does all the melodic tricks with his right hand (sliding up or down the keys, the "trigger", etc.), he keeps playing the basic (classic) rhythm with his left hand. Fantastic.

There has never been, nor will ever be, a comedy team to equal the Marx Brothers. They were genius! And though Groucho was totally brilliant, I've always been so in love with Chico! You read all the books about them; he was the oldest son, the bad boy, and Minnie's favorite. He could grab your heart with one hand while he was emptying your wallet with the other. The Marx Brothers will never be topped. NEVER!!

IMO, there was no one better at the piano than Chico Marx. He made it look like the easiest thing in world and had fun doing it. It takes true talent to be as funny as the Marx Brothers and be such awesome musicians as well. Their talents are not even closely matched by anybody, and by what pathetic crap that passes for talent today, never will be

Harpo didn't fake anything: he could play piano about as well as a lefthanded moth. He learned to play two pieces (Love Me And The World Is Mine was one of them I recall) and took over from Chico who he looked so much alike that they could pass as twins. Chico faked his left hand at first, because his teacher did ("Focus on the right hand - that is where the music is!" she used to say to get out of his questions). However in the end he learned to play it all properly. THE END! (:

It was Chico who originally faked as he was taught by his teacher who faked herself (as AlexKing mentioned); Harpo learned what he could from Chico and eventually amassed a reptoire of two one-finger pieces :D

As I wrote in the Info area this might be Silver Threads Among the Gold, or some piano arrangement to be more precise, but in all honesty Im not sure. Ive gotten the name of the song from a Wikipedia link about this movie. At the bottom of the page there was a list of music/songs featured in the film and this was the most likely title. If someone knows for sure which song is Chico playing please share the info. I would greatly appreciate it.

GUYS, Girls don't care about bros, yuppies or guidos. I'm not even saying they don't want a bad boy (because many do, and that's totally ok), but every girl, so some level, wants a guy like Chico. Take a cue from him--stop trying so hard, stop shying away so much, don't be afraid to be a tad zaney and be playful Lastly, stop treating girls like they're your little brothers--Chico never did!
