Her story and mine are like alot of us in the military. I served 7 deployments and two different war zones. I was awarded the purple heart after 7 ied attacks and 1 morter through the back of a humv. I stopped hiding in 2014 after retirement. I learned after many years hiding in the dark will tear you apart. I was married had kids and still couldnt break away from the real person i was. But after the big D and getting to let my kids know who i really was life got so much better. So ya i know the struggle. My old combat buddies pit two and two together and now they respect me and understand that the old person is still there but better.
