I'm here because I finally watched "American Sniper". The problem I have with this interview is the judgemental tone of this reporter. Have some respect...for what he's been through, what he's seen, and what he had to do. Whether she agreed with his doings or not, he did his job as a Navy SEAL for his country in his eyes. Clint Eastwood’s version of “American Sniper” was a Hollywood production. The screenplay by Jason Hall mixed half truths with fiction. The scene where the “Hollywood Chris Kyle” looks through his scope at the young boy and says, “Don’t pick it up” was fictional. It was not Clint Eastwood’s or Warner Brothers’ intent to make a film that was historically accurate. It was their job to make a film that would sell a lot of movie tickets. The “Hollywood Chris Kyle” played by Bradley Cooper needed to be “sanitized’ for the big screen. There was no mention of Chris Kyle’s web of fabricated stories. There are people who thought the “Rambo” and “Top Gun” films were real…. as well as James Cameron’s “Titanic”. Some people can’t distinguish Hollywood productions from reality.

Mr. Kyle’s medal count claim that he wrote in his book was discredited by the United States Department of Navy in 2016. Both the Navy Times and The Intercept reported that Mr. Kyle was warned by Navy personnel that the medal count in his manuscript was wrong and that he needed to correct it before publishing. Mr. Kyle obviously did not do that. Mr. Kyle also claimed that he shot and killed 30 looters from atop the Superdome in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Honore, who ran the ground troops in the Katrina aftermath, described Mr. Kyle’s story as “war story bullshit”. In a 2012 interview with D Magazine, Mr. Kyle claimed that he shot and killed two would be car jackers at a gas station outside of Dallas TX. Kyle claimed the police were on the scene....and that the entire incident was caught on security camera tape. When the story went through a fact-check, all of the documentation that would have existed if the story had been true, was non-existent: There were no police reports, no coroner’s report, no coroner’s inquest, no record from any district attorney’s office in Texas, no surveillance camera tape....and absolutely no newspaper coverage of this ever taking place. As far as the Jesse Ventura story is concerned, HarperCollins, which published Mr. Kyle’s book, “American Sniper”, has since removed the entire chapter entitled, “Punching Out Scruff Face” from the book. The Coronado Police did NOT back up Mr. Kyle’s claims either. I really like this comment. I don't know why, of all the writers/editors at TIME, they let this awful person conduct the interview. That last question was just brutal. She obviously has no idea about what it is to be a soldier. She just wanted a reaction out of him for views. Awful interview, and disrespectful to all vets for asking the worst questions you could ask.

IIXIXI was shot. Chris Kyle took an ex marine to a shooting range to help the guy with his PTSD... and the guy shot him. He stated it was because Kyle wasn’t talking to him, he also suffered with schizophrenia. Really sad
