@Macwebb msk Why do you want her to use an euphemism? In the end it is what it is (as Trump would put it.) As a soldier you kill people. And please dont give me crap like: "This is not killing. Its defending your country." Nobody defends his motherland 20 000 km abroad.
@scheisstag4 жыл бұрын
@Macwebb msk See: I think you cant only blame the politicians. You are always responsible for your choices yourself. And you dont protect your country 20 000 km away from your country and after starting the war (in both cases: Afghanistan and Iraq as well). And after reading his book you realize: Chris Kyle enjoyed killing and did it mostly because he liked the way people started to honor him after his kill "records". And the interesting fact is: His records did him in in the end. Most people think he was shot by a mental unstable guy who had PTSD. Which is not wrong. But people often shoot others for their importance. Please see the attempted assassination of Reagan. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attempted_assassination_of_Ronald_Reagan#:~:text=On%20March%2030%2C%201981%2C%20United,at%20the%20Washington%20Hilton%20Hotel. I guess, he would not have been shot if he would not have been THE famous Chris Kyle. So in the end he died because someone got so used to killing, that he couldnt stop it, even after the war ended. And he got killed because of the killing "record" he was so proud of. Is this Karma? Ironic? You decide....
@scheisstag4 жыл бұрын
@Macwebb msk I would say: if you feel guilty for something you have done, than you dont volunteer to make it public. He wrote a book, sold his story to a movie maker and made this and hundred other interviews. Plus: he didnt gave any afford to distance himself. So I wouldnt say he is not proud. And why do you say: "I truly thank you for their services." ? If you acknowledge, that a) it was wrong for the US to invade a foreign country, Afghanistan. I mean: why are you not thanking the Afghan Taliban for their service, for defending their country? It would make more sense in my opinion, than to thank an aggressor. Is it because the US have a more similar culture to Japan? And b) that it is basically wrong to kill people and that no matter what the politicians decide: in the end its the individual that pulls the trigger and which stays at least partially responsible. Cheers from Germany and thank you for sharing your thoughts!

+Evan97 When she asks a Clinton, or an Obama, or a Pelosi, hardball questions like that, I'll accept that it's her job. Until then, she's another puppet, singing the party song. I'm not saying I personally dislike her, or others like her; they've been programmed from college days on to think like that. It's just a sad thing, really. When the pendulum swings back the other way, because of the ditzy things the media has done, they'll be the first to start whining, because momentum like that can be a dangerous, dangerous thing.

You do realize she is a reporter? These are questions she needs to ask not for her own sake - but for Kyle's sake. People may incorrectly view him as a cold-blooded killer and by giving him the chance to showcase that he isn't she is doing him a favour, not the opposite. Those were very soft questions. If she wanted to pin him she could ask a lot more morally blurry questions.

The one thing Chris worried about and hated more than anything else in the world were other snipers with real military credentials -- the dude couldn't handle that shit especially if another sniper was in the room to counter his bogus shooting accomplishments. He would always sweat bullets and shut down around real snipers for fear of being called out. Chris never had a firm grasp on all the slang and odd phrases unique to this profession that real snipers used when talking about their jobs and it was certainly a red flag to military personnel. The only people that would defend Chris's fake record are all civilians. Only paid actors in the military would attempt to validate Chris's thoroughly unbelievable accomplishments.

Guys who had served with him all said he seemed unstable, as to why they stuck his ass in the armory with un-loaded weapons(ammunition is not stored at the armory). All of his claims of seeing dead bodies or dead children in Haiti can not be backed up, as someone who deployed to combat zones, there are after action reports that must be made, and none of those reports had anything to do with corpse removal or combat. He was just a nut job who slipped through the cracks.

The truth is, he was a soldier following orders with a talent for shooting a long-range rifle. He was simply doing whatever he needed to do to protect his comrades and applying selective humanity. That was his job. Unfortunately US foreign policy was very destructive not only to the countries it invaded, but it put regular American's in the crosshairs of harm. American's who believed they were doing what was in their countries interest and their interest. Most soldier's are just young people seeking purpose in life who are exploited into doing the muddy work that the controlling elites themselves would never do - so that the 1% can live comfortably. The fact that veteran's have so few benefits tells you all you need to know. But they glorify their soldiers with a couple medals because it's the only way to keep the cycle going.

But the interview wasn't just for us, rather it's for those who think that anyone who jas ever been in combat is a blood thirsty killer. Her asking those questions was a way for people to rethink those opinions and connect with the human side of Chris. I'm even willing to bet that Chris was actually delighted that she asked those specific questions.

Besides, if America really was all about freedom and justice and protecting those who can't protect themselves, we'd have gotten involved in the situation in Mexico years ago.
@Giagantus10 жыл бұрын
kffive LOL you make alot ASSumptions. Regardless of you don't have freedom because of him or others. The US hasn't fought for its freedom since WWII. Every other war has been BS. You do know that Vietnam was fought on a known lie (the Incident in bay of Tonkin was a lie). Same thing with Iraq and to a lesser degree Afghanistan (the Taliban could have given up ObL. Soldiers today fight for big buisness and it's sad as fuck. But since they have wrapped the cause in BS alot of people actually think the fight for freedom. LOL US has the biggest amount of people in jail (per capita as well in sheer numbers) all due to bug buisness (private prisons). And you speak of freedom. The consitution is great, really it is. But they US is a dream and until people wake up it will always be a dream.

@@gilesotojr Chris Kyle was the “Stephen Glass” of the military. He told fabricated story after fabricated story and passed them all off as fact, when they were works of fiction. Mr. Kyle was especially able to fool people who thought that his story telling was exempt from any type of fact-checking, simply because he was a Navy SEAL. Mr. Kyle’s medal count claim that he wrote in his book was discredited by the United States Department of Navy in 2016. Both the Navy Times and The Intercept reported that Mr. Kyle was warned by Navy personnel that the medal count in his manuscript was wrong and that he needed to correct it before publishing. Mr. Kyle obviously did not do that. Mr. Kyle also claimed that he shot and killed 30 looters from atop the Superdome in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Those claims were discredited by both the United States Special Operations Command and Army Lieutenant General Russell Honore. Honore, who ran the ground troops in the Katrina aftermath, described Mr. Kyle’s story as “war story bullshit”. In a 2012 interview with D Magazine, Mr. Kyle claimed that he shot and killed two would be car jackers at a gas station outside of Dallas TX. Kyle claimed the police were on the scene....and that the entire incident was caught on security camera tape. When the story went through a fact-check, all of the documentation that would have existed if the story had been true, was non-existent: There were no police reports, no coroner’s report, no coroner’s inquest, no record from any district attorney’s office in Texas, no surveillance camera tape....and absolutely no newspaper coverage of this ever taking place. As far as the Jesse Ventura story is concerned, HarperCollins, which published Mr. Kyle’s book, “American Sniper”, has since removed the entire chapter entitled, “Punching Out Scruff Face” from the book. The Coronado Police did NOT back up Mr. Kyle’s claims either. Chris Kyle, like Stephen Glass, Alicia ‘Tania’ Head and Jussie Smollett, was a serial fabulist who was able to fool a lot of people who are incapable of fact-checking. “American Sniper”?????? - That title really belongs to Carlos Hathcock, United States Marine Corp.
