It's so good to see your face again and do a fun song. Ren released 3 new tracks. The 2nd one Back on 74 /Message in a Bottle Retake is so good. It's such a vibe. It's a Ren you haven't seen yet. I would love to see you react to this soulful live performance. Ren started out at 13 producing Drum and Bass. The only reason he started rapping is because he couldn't find anyone else in hiss village in Wales.

As a musician for 20 years, Ren's sense of rhythm is shockingly insane. He just plays around beats like no one else. It's like prog/math rock and he uses his voice as an instrument. Check out some of his live versions particularly Animal Flow if you haven't already. Ren + guitar on a bus just doing what he does best.

This is my fave Ren track. He does over a dozen flows in less than 3 minutes! I totally counted. 😸 He actually started off creating beats and selling CDs of them. He got into singing because he couldn't find someone to front for him in the small town he grew up in. If you want to hear more on his based anti-capitalistic sentiments, then check out Crucify Your Culture, Money Game, Money Game pt 2, Money Game pt 3 (an absolutely brilliant piece of cinema), and Sick Boi. The last 2 are really the hi-lights. We can never hear these songs, watch these videos for the first time ever again. But we can experience that same thrill vicariously through the reactions of wonderful channels such as yours. ❤

"Fuck a sandwich"! 😂😂😂 OMG, That is my new favorite phrase!!! Glad the music got that reaction from you! It's one of my favorites, and I have an EXTREME dislike of hip hop and rap! But Ren is phenomenal! The thing I love most was his ability to create a community. As a 51 year old Gen Xer, we/I never felt understood. Then along comes this "kid" (to me) that not only "understands" but has also drawn a true fan base of people who "get it". I feel less alone, and less misunderstood, when I see younger generations, that "understand", because I've never felt like much of the "older generations" did. There are a few of them out there, I've seen their comments about his videos. And members of this "Ren(eration?) may never meet, but it fills me with hope (kind of a rare thing for a lot of Gen X 😉) to see the community of like minded individuals, and the empathy, that have come together because of Ren.

Ren is my first exposure as a 48 year old woman to the KZbin reaction community. It’s a great reminder how much good there is in the world. As far as Ren using his voice (and sometimes his guitar) as a drum, I think you’re spot on. If he’s anything like other artists I know who made their start either through busking or playing busy bars (Ani DiFranco comes to mind), it’s a great way to get people’s attention who might otherwise just walk by or keep carrying on a conversation. It’s a way to say, “Listen to me!” Makes you feel the music right in your core where you can’t ignore it. Hugs right back at you from Chicagoland, my friend! Keep up the great work!
