You can tell he is a student of music - all music. First of all, just the switch ups - the old school style mixed with new flows. He even name drops Django Rhinehart (Belgian jazz guitarist (from the '30s I think)) and Leonard Cohen (Amazing Canadian poet and songwriter) which earns a tremendous amount of respect in my book - know your roots! Ren is the total package and has studied to absorb all that musical talent to make it into his own today. Let's go! I haven't been this hyped about a new artist since high school in the '90's when Grunge took the scene by storm! Edit - Oh - and the beatboxing just brings him up another notch. I've seen him scat as well in some live stuff. Crazy!

Ren is one of a kind. His ability to sing as you found in Chaulk Outlines. Or his ability to paint pictures in The Tale of Jenny and Screech (full). 😂perfect reaction!!! This is exactly what I was like when I first heard this track! Edit to add: I’d love to hear your take on Akala, one of my favs from the uk. Absolute lyrical beast with a lot of meaning. His Fire in the Booth 1 and 4 are amazing! The first one is really old now and even the 4th is 3 or 4 years old now, but you’ll honestly love it! He founded ‘the hiphop Shakespeare company’, has written a couple of novels, poetry, non-fiction, plays etc and does guest lectures at Universities on history and social policy. He also goes into prisons and tries to help rehabilitate young men involved in gangs etc. But he can flow like a machine!
